The house
Arthur and Corine welcome you to La Verte Dordogne. We have two guest rooms La Forge and La Souche on a 17th century estate. La Verte stands on 1 ha of land. From the swimming pool, with loungers, you have a beautiful view. La Verte is surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape with woods and fields.
The double guest rooms each have their own entrance, bathroom and terrace. An extra bed can be placed in one room. Breakfast is served either on the terrace or in the dining room depending on the weather.
In high season, we rent the rooms with a minimum of two nights.

La Verte is surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape with forests and fields. It is close to the village of Villars. Just on the other side of the hill are the caves of Villars. The largest stalactite caves in France with prehistoric drawings.
Near La Verte are the towns of Brantôme, Bourdeilles and St-Jean-de-Côle, which are well worth a visit.
Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne, is 45 km away.
La Verte is very quietly located in the hamlet of Laschenaud, on the edge of the forest.
La Souche and La Forge, together with a gite for two people, a gite for 4 people and a safari tent, are part of La Verte, a 17th-century estate on a 1-hectare site.

Wat een geweldige locatie! In een prachtige omgeving met leuke dorpen op fietsafstand maar toch weg van de drukte. Prachtig wandelgebied ook met veel uitgezette routes.
En niet te vergeten de grote gastvrijheid van Arthur en Corine met veel leuke tips over o.a. de heerlijkste restaurants in de omgeving. Superlekker gegeten!
Wij verbleven in La Petite Verte. Een heerlijk klein, knus en gezellig huisje van alle gemakken voorzien. Daar omheen een prachtige tuin met heerlijk zwembad.

We hadden een heel fijne week in het kleine, comfortabele en heel gezellige huisje, la petit verte. Al een beetje herfst, toch nog lekker warm, zo fijn gezwommen. In de avond nog buiten gegeten, in de schemer zagen we hertjes. Heel mooie omgeving om te wandelen. Brantôme is een mooi stadje met wat ateliertjes, lekker geluncht aan het water. Door Arthur en Corine verwend met verse broodjes voor het ontbijt en ze hebben 2 x lekker voor ons gekookt.
En dan staat er ook nog een pick-up met langspeelplaten, we hebben ervan genoten!

The Périgord (is the old name for the Dordogne department) is a culinary region. The Bergerac wines such as Pécharment and Monbazillac and the local products (nuts, truffles, duck) guarantee tasty local cuisine.
Nearby are restaurants everywhere to try this cuisine.
Activities
The immediate vicinity of La Verte offers attractive activities and sights, such as canoeing, horseback riding, golf, rock climbing and cycling. There are many marked walking routes. One of them even runs along La Verte.
A 20-minute drive away is the swimming lake of St-Saud, with a beautiful, guarded sandy beach.
Nothing nicer than strolling around a French market. There are markets everywhere. Brantôme on Friday, Nontron on Saturday, etc.
There are all kinds of activities in the area: festivals, concerts and not forgetting the "brocantes" (antique markets).
