Les Deux Ours

The area immediately surrounding the house is characterised by rolling wooded hills and arable farming: lavender, wheat, alfalfa, sunflowers and fruit trees such as cherries, apricots, almonds, peaches, apples, oak trees for truffles and the occasional olive tree.

Mount Le Couspeau (1600 m), part of the Pré Alpes, dominates the view to the east, Le Chatelard (700 m) to the south.

Old villages such as Pont de Barret (9th-century bridge and 11th-century church La Notre Dame de La Brune), Cleon d'Andran, Eyzahut, Rochebaudin, La Begude de Mazenc, Manas, Puy St. Martin (varying between ± 150 and 1500 inhabitants) are some 3 to 6 km away.
Apart from Eyzahut, Rochebaudin and Manas, all these villages have shops, a post office and 1 or more cafés and restaurants.
Cleo and la Begude also have a weekly market.

In July and August the communal swimming pools are open in many villages but there is also the river Le Roubion nearby and a bit further away the still "wild" river Drôme.
Directly from the house you can make several walks and cycling tours. Of course you can also drive a bit first, there are maps in the house with mapped out walks.

At Eyzahut and Pont de Barret you can climb. At Montboucher, 5 km from Montélimar, there is a golf course, Golf de la Valdaine. Tennis and horse riding are also available, close by.
