The house
Situated in a traditional French village, in the heart of the picturesque Vallee de l'Ouche, this tastefully restored 125 m2 stone house offers comfortable accommodation with charming French style.
The accommodation is on three levels. On the ground floor a living/dining area with adjoining kitchen, shower room and toilet. On the first floor there is a comfortable living room, with access to a covered terrace, a double bedroom and bathroom. Stairs from the living room lead to the second bedroom with a double and 2 single beds.
Outside you’ll find a delightful enclosed courtyard garden, the perfect place for al fresco eating, barbecuing, or to sit and watch the world go by.

The house is just a few minutes’ walk from the banks of the river Ouche and the Burgundy Canal, where the towpath meanders through the countryside. Perfect for a gentle stroll or cycle to the local bar and bistro 3 kms away in the port at Pont d'Ouche. 3 kms the opposite direction, is the Abbaye de la Bussiere, a beautiful restaurant and hotel situated its own parkland.
In the village is a café/general shop. There is an artisan bakery in the next village, a short drive or cycle away, for morning baguettes and croissants, they also deliver every morning. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away in the market town of Bligny-sur-Ouche.
Veuvey-sur-Ouche is in a great location for exploring the Cote d’Or. Châteauneuf en Auxois is 12 Kms away, where you can visit the famous Chateau de Châteauneuf, a 15th-century hill fortress situated in a charming village with a good selection of restaurants. Lac de Panthier, where you'll find a sailing club, a bar and restaurant, and a supervised beach is 15 ams away. You can rent a variety of water sports equipment such as Catamarans, stand up paddle boards and kayaks.
If you enjoy walking or cycling there are miles of tracks along the Burgundy Canal or through the forests of the Ouche valley.
It’s a 30 km drive to the fascinating walled town of Beaune, the centre of the Burgundy wine making region, where you’ll find some of the finest examples of medieval French architecture along with many restaurants, cafes and beautiful shops to explore. The historic town of Dijon is also only 30 kms away.
Finally, let’s not forget the lovely vineyards of Burgundy, strolling through them and enjoying some wine-tasting is an experience you will never forget. Take a drive along the Route des Grand Cru from Dijon to Santenay via Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune and pass through some of the most famous vineyards in the world.

Beautiful, spacious cottage with all amenities in a small village on the Ouche river and the Burgundy canal. 30 mins from the Grand Cru Wine route and the beautiful towns of Dijon and Beaune. Excellent location for hikes into the Morvan Nature Reserve and Burgundy wine tours! Responsive owners. Highly recommended!!!

Authentiek frans dorpshuis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Heel vriendelijke ontvangst en het huis is heel schoon.
Heel rustige omgeving. Je kunt heerlijk fietsen langs canal du bourgogne. Helaas weinig dorpjes in de buurt met restaurantjes. Broodautomaat naast de Mairie is wel handig. Voor uitstapjes moet je toch de auto nemen, minimaal een half uur rijden door een prachtige omgeving.Arjan from Arnhem,
Wat een fijne plek om te zijn. Het huis is mooi en ruim, goed en smaakvol ingericht. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. De keuken is prima voorzien om een goede maaltijd klaar te kunnen maken.De tuinen zijn groot genoeg en liggen beschut. Het huis was erg netjes en schoon bij aankomst was Jon, de gastheer aanwezig en gaf heel vriendelijk en duidelijk uitleg over het huis en de mogelijkheden in de buurt. Tijdens onze week hebben we de eigenaars een keer nodig gehad voor de codes van de fietssloten en die kregen we erg snel.
Het dorpje is rustig en ligt mooi op een half uur rijden van de steden Beaune en Dijn, van de wijngaarden van de bourgogne en heel dichtbij het Canal de bourgogne. Op 3 kilometer fietsen langs het Canal de Bourgogne in het volgende dorp is de bakker die prima brood levert. In het dorpje is een winkeltje voor de eerste noodvoorraad, ijsjes, broodjes, drankjes etc. In de Abdij kun je heerlijk uit eten en fietsen en wandelen in de buurt is prima mogelijk. Nog een laatste aanraders om de truffel te ontdekken in Marrey Les Fussey bij een korte introductie met daarna een proeverij.
Kortom een heerlijk huis op een heerlijke plek om de Bourgogne te ontdekken.

Water sports available nearby at Lac du Panthier, canoe, kayak, windsurf, catamaran, fishing, sailing dingy, swimming. The Local forests are ideal for nature lovers, walking, hiking, mountain biking. The river Ouche is 200 meters away from the house, a great spot for fishing. As is the Canal de Bourgogne, with solid towpath great for cycling or walking. There is horse riding, tree climbing and archery also available locally.
