The house
Nice holiday house with old elements in a medieval outbuilding of the castle of Vauvillers.
The house is quietly situated right next to the medieval market hall.
The house has a small front garden and has on the ground floor 2 lovely cool bedrooms (also in summer) and a bathroom.
In 1 of the bedrooms is also a cot available.
It is possible to put an extra bed in the bedrooms.
Through an old limestone spiral staircase you go to the first floor where a living room and a large kitchen which also gives access to the sun terrace (16m2 with garden furniture and parasol) where you have the sun all day.
Under the market hall children can play freely and, with the exception of the shopping street, there is little traffic in the small streets so the children can stay here safely.
There is parking in front of the house.

Het huisje heeft veel charme en is authentiek. Het zonnige terras, de douche en de bedden waren uitstekend! De slaapkamer is aan de frisse kant, maar bij een hete zomer is dit weer wel positief. In het dorpje is niet zo veel te beleven, maar de regio is prachtig. Vele leuke dorpjes in de buurt, 30 min met de auto veel te zien. Wandeling in Vauvillers is ook top! De wijnboer ( Domaine Camus Renaut ) in de streek is ook de moeite waard om te bezoeken. ( zeer lekkere wijn trouwens ). De gastheer Johannes is ook super vriendelijk en staat ook altijd klaar.

We hebben 5 dagen verbleven in de Gite. Wat hebben wij een heerlijke dagen gehad. Een super zonnig terras met een parasol. (Gelukkig want het was erg warm). Er was een hele leuk markt in de straat waar wij goed hebben geshopt. De gastvrouw kan ontzettend lekker koken (tip) en de hond is echt een schatje. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug.

Restaurants, food & wine
There is a (simple) restaurant in the village where you can eat kebab, couscous, hamburger etc. but in the vicinity there are several restaurants from simple to luxurious.
Activities
The quiet town has a bakery, supermarket, butcher, newsagent, hardware store, post office, tobacconist, bank, restaurant and petrol station.
In short, everything is close by!
There are beautiful alleys and streets, a castle, old market hall, washing place, church, etc.
Vauvillers is only 4 km from SELLES where the river Coney and the canal de l'Est flow.
A beautiful place to sunbathe, swim, picnic and fish.
Also the river Saône is easily accessible, here one can sail, swim and fish.
Apart from fishing in the rivers and the canal, there is also a carp pond and trout farm nearby.
To fish, you do need to get a permit.
On the canal de l'Est, you can also take a boat trip.
The beautiful, woody surroundings are ideal for walkers and cyclists, and there are also lovely paths for mountain bikers.
A folder with routes is available in the house.
There are many attractions nearby such as swimming pools, thermal baths, riding stables, golf courses, adventure park, art glassworks, candy factory, abbey and monastery, prehistoric museum, cheese factory, wine producers and the Route des mille Etangs (a route of 60km along several lakes).

Dogs are welcome and we don't charge extra for this but the obligatory cleaning costs then become €70,- instead of €50,-.
Price includes WIFI, use smart TV including Netflix and Amazon prime, beds made and towels.
In the months May t / m September, the price includes gas and electricity.
In the months October t / m April, we ask a contribution of € 50, - for electricity / heating.
You can also use a washing machine, we ask €6,- per wash.
