The house
La Bastide Blanc is very cosy and functionally decorated. The kitchen plays a central role during your stay. It is very cosy to dine, read and relax at the long kitchen table. The wood stove provides the necessary warmth on cold days or evenings. The living room, located next to the kitchen, is furnished with a comfortable couch and a dining table. The fireplace with decorative mantelpiece provides warmth and atmosphere. There is a TV with satellite receiver and DVD player with a few films. Two bedrooms have double beds and one bedroom has two single beds. The part of the house where the two bedrooms and a bathroom are located was completely renovated in 2011. The bedroom on the ground floor has a wood-burning stove.
The house is also suitable for a stay with (small) children. There is a cot and highchair available. The stairs are equipped with stair gates.
The kitchen is equipped with a 4-burner cooker, electric oven and dishwasher. Crockery is plentiful. There is also a washing machine in the house.
There are two recently renovated bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink. Garden furniture is also available.

The house is beautifully situated in the southern part of the Parc Régional Naturel Du Morvan. The area is characterized by its rural and natural landscape with forests, meadows bordered by hedges, a large number of "etangs" and lakes. La Bastide Blanc is situated on the highest point of Le Châtelet, on the edge of the hamlet directly bordering the vast nature. Here the nights are still really dark, and the silence is such that you can hear flies. You have a beautiful view at the front of the house over the valley of the little river Yonne that flows between the hills. The Yonne is 200 meters from the house, the Etang d'Yonne is also in Le Châtelet. In Chateau-Chinon all amenities such as several supermarkets, bakeries, butchers and a hospital are present.
In short; beautifully situated in the middle of the nature with a beautiful view, but with facilities and activities on short distance.

Restaurants, food & wine
Extensive home cooking, barbecuing in the garden, but also simple or luxurious dining out is possible. Chateau-Chinon has several restaurants, but also in Arleuf and Glux and Glenne are restaurants at short distance. Local dishes and products are frequently served. Famous wine regions such as the Côte de Beaune near Beaune east of La Bastide Blanc, and the wine regions of the Loire such as Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre west of La Bastide Blanc are well worth a visit at car distance. A wine tasting at one or more chateau's is a special event, moreover the vineyards and castles alone are beautiful to see.
Activities
The house is an excellent base for long walks, cycling trips and activities in the area such as swimming, fishing and sailing on/in the lakes like Lac des Settons and Lac de Panneciere. Cultural trips to villages and cities in the area such as Chateau-Chinon, Autun, Nevers, but also cities like Vézelay and the wine regions around Beaune are within easy reach. Museum Bibracte (excavations) is also worthwhile.

Further remarks
La Bastide Blanc is rented per week, from Saturday to Saturday. A deposit of € 100,- must be paid in advance and will be refunded after your stay if everything is left correct and clean.
Bed linen, towels and kitchen linen must be provided by yourself. Mentioned prices include firewood and electricity.
The final cleaning must be done by the tenant. Cleaning products are abundantly present.
