The house
Maison Morvan is an old farmhouse, very quietly situated on a small road 50 metres from the forest on a south-facing slope with beautiful private views over the wide hilly surroundings. Next to and in front of the house is parking space. The hall gives access to 2 bedrooms, a toilet, bathroom and living room. The master bedroom has a private balcony on the garden side with a view. The bright double height living room with old oak beams, has a large dining table, built-in cupboards, a kitchenette and sitting area with views over the hills. On the mezzanine floor is a second sitting area and work table where children can also draw. On the landing is a 2nd bathroom and toilet and 2 spacious bedrooms. The living room adjoins a spacious covered terrace, in France you want to be outside as much as possible. With the outdoor stove you can bake pizzas and barbecue. In high season there is a large swimming pool, heated by solar collectors. The upper and lower garden are connected by stairs and together are 2000 m2, you can have a nice walk along the hedges and meadows. Pick up the fallen fruit and nuts and pick the grapes!

In the surrounding area, there are of course the lovely French villages such as Luzy and Chiddes with markets, terraces and churches, where many events are organised. In Saint Honnoré les Bains there are thermal baths. A larger old Roman city with a lot of history is Autun.
In the middle of the nature area, you will find the large lakes. The Morvan is an offshoot of the volcanic central plateau of the Auvergne, and consists for a large part of granite, which retains the water in these places. Lac de Pannecière is the largest lake and is 45 minutes away, no boats are allowed here but you can swim (to islands) and canoe. Lac de Settons is a reservoir where water sports are allowed. For the children there are several attraction and climbing parks in the area.

Wij hebben drie weekjes genoten in dit mooie huis. Het is zeer volledig ingericht en heeft een mooie tuin. Fijn dat er twee badkamers en toiletten zijn. In de keuken zijn allerhande spullen om heerlijk te koken met de locale producten. De eigenaar was laagdrempelig te benaderen en zeer prettig om mee te overleggen.
Het huis is gelegen in een prachtige, rustige omgeving waar goed gewandeld kan worden in de mooie natuur. Dit plekje is een paradijs voor rustzoekers.

Tophuisje met alle comfort. Ondanks de erg warme week (30°) bleef de benedenverdieping lekker koel. De slaapkamers op de bovenverdieping zouden een ventilator kunnen gebruiken. Wat ons het meeste aanstond is de kindvriendelijkheid van de locatie. Omheinde tuin, zwembad, zandbak met speelgoed, trampoline, ... Onze kleinzoon Jules vond het allemaal zalig. Kortom, een aanrader voor wie van rust en eenvoud houdt.

Dit riante huis ligt op een helling met een prachtige tuin en heeft mooi uitzicht over een dal. Trampoline en zwembad zijn ruim genoeg om de kinderen te amuseren waardoor wij konden genieten van het terras met pizza oven. Van harte aanbevolen!

Activities
From the house you can go directly into nature, there are several smaller and larger walks possible, in the woods or between the meadows, through villages or just nature. And for the serious walker there is a few km away the GR 13. The southern Morvan is a beautiful nature reserve with deciduous and pine forests interspersed with meadows. Because of the hills, there are beautiful views. The highest point of the Morvan, the Haut Folin of almost 1000 metres, is a stone's throw away. Nearby is Mont Beuvray where a Celtic excavation can be visited and the new museum Bibracte. The high hills are a valhalla for the sportive cyclist and mountainbiker, there are numerous routes and beautiful climbs.

Further remarks
The house has three double beds, two single beds and a 1.9-metre sofa bed (and a camp bed). It is big enough for 6 adults or 4 adults with their children. For example 3 couples, 2 families with a total of 4-5 children or 1 big family with grandpa and grandma. But for two people it is also a comfortable house, so many possibilities.
A sofa bed for 1 extra person is available on request.
