The house
The castle house has a very large, comfortable dining kitchen with a 6-burner Borretti cooker with oven, microwave and dishwasher; a spacious living room with a century-old beamed ceiling, wood-burning stove, TV with Dutch channels; a spacious bedroom with two 1m20 beds; a bedroom with two single beds with two pull-out beds underneath; a bathroom with bathtub and washbasin; terraces both on the courtyard and outside.

Château de Salorges is situated in nature reserve Morvan on a green hill in the valley of the Yonne, between meadows and a forest edge. A nice town, Château-Chinon, is at 4 km distance. You have the possibility to walk through the woods from Salorges. The Yonne runs along the domain, here you can play and build dams in knee-deep water in most places. We rent four houses on the domain, so in high season there are always other children to play with.

We hebben met z'n vieren een heerlijke vakantie gehad in de kasteelwoning! Lieve mensen leren kennen, goed geslapen en mooie dingen in de omgeving gezien. De dag aan de Yonne was een heerlijke dag voor de kinderen, maar zeer zeker ook voor ons; een echt vakantiegevoel!

Samen met mijn 2 kinderen (10 en 13) hebben we 2 heerlijke weken gehad!
De kasteelwoning heeft een prachtige inrichting en een hele fijne keuken. Elke ochtend maakten we een wandeling door de prachtige omgeving, en ontbijt aan de rivier de Yonne. Met de grote meren in de buurt hebben we ook genoten van de watersportfaciliteiten.

Wat een liefde hebben Lida en Wim in hun domein gestoken. Wij - gezin met 2 kinderen van 4 en 6 - hebben een heerlijke verlengde najaarsvakantie in de Morvan mogen vieren. De meer dan ruime kasteelwoning is van alle gemakken voorzien, met veel zorg en oog voor brocante schatten ingericht en de gastvrijheid van de eigenaars zorgde ervoor dat het bijna voelde alsof we bij opa en oma logeerden. Maar dan met alle privacy die bij een guesthouse hoort.
Een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die zoekt naar een uniek plekje in de Morvan.
Restaurants, food & wine
The Burgundians are friendly, helpful, with fun traditions, village festivals, flea markets, festivals, fairs and, last but not least, their famous Burgundian cuisine and wines.
Food and drink are an important part of Burgundian culture. Also in the Morvan, you will find, in all price ranges, attractive restaurants. The wine castles can be found just outside the Morvan in the Côte du Beaune.
Activities
Salorges is, with the exception of the high season, a place to enjoy peace and nature. In high season, the cottages are mostly occupied by families with children. Plenty of space for the children to play with each other, but also enough private places.
You have the possibility to walk or mountain bike from your house through the woods.
For water recreation you can go to the very quiet Lac de Panneciere at 5 km or to the more touristic Lac de Settons at 10 km or of course to the Yonne which runs along the domain, there is also in the months of July / August a swimming pool of 5.40 meters in diameter.
At a riding school, situated at 10 km, it is possible to make horse rides through the woods and fields.

Further remarks
Four houses are rented on the grounds of Château de Salorges. In addition to the castle house, there is also a farmhouse and two gîtes. The castle house and the farm house are situated at a large courtyard, the gîtes are situated at the field.
Chateau de Salorges is suitable for giving courses or other group activities. There is a course room/atelier. Catering can be mediated.
