The house
This holiday home is part of a farmhouse built in 1830. On one side of the farm is Grand Vouas and on the other is Petit Vouas, separated by a barn. It is located in Les Vouas, a hamlet of the municipality of Corancy, in the middle of the Morvan.
The cottage is located on the lake "Lac Pannecière" less than a minute's walk away. A terrace and garden and ample parking are at your disposal. The natural park of the Morvan is at your feet. The nearest town is Chateau Chinon (9 km), where amenities include supermarkets, petrol station, post office, cafes, restaurants, etc. 4 km away is the village of Chaumard with a restaurant and a small supermarket selling the main foodstuffs. There is also a shop there for fishing supplies. A baker comes by twice a week. For photos see the slide show.
Petit Vouas is a holiday home for 4 people. Living room with French balcony facing south, views of the surrounding landscape, open kitchen with gas cooker with oven, coffee maker, kettle and fridge. The living room has a double sofa bed and two chairs. Also on this floor is a shower with WC.
A spiral staircase leads to the first floor with a double bed and an Ikea Hemnes sofa bed. The sofa bed upstairs consists of 2 beds, 1 bed you can pull out partly, but not completely.
Present: cot (on request), highchair (on request), wood-burning stove (for the wood we charge € 7.50 per basket), electric radiators, TV with Dutch channels, DVD player and a radio/CD player.
There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and extra fridge. These facilities are also available for Grand Vouas.
There is a Dutch-speaking manager who lives less than half an hour's drive away in the Morvan. However, the Flemish neighbours can be contacted in emergencies.
This house can also be rented in combination with Grand Vouas for a group of 10 people.

The holiday home is located on the shores of Lac Pannecière, in Les Vouas, municipality of Corancy, in the middle of the Morvan, a nature park in Burgundy.
Since 1970 the area is protected as Parc naturel régional. The Morvan is covered with extensive mixed forests of mainly deciduous trees, with pasture areas in between. In the Morvan, there are many reservoirs like Lac de Pannecière, Lac de Saint-Agnan and Lac des Settons. There are some larger rivers like the Yonne, the Chalaux and the Cure as well as many small streams. Because there is no industry, there is no air pollution. Because there are few big cities nearby, in the evening, when the sky is cloudless, you have a breathtaking view of the Milky Way and galaxies. For everyone who loves nature and also for those who like active holidays, this is a wonderful area to get back to yourself, together with family or friends.

We hebben een geweldig leuke week gehad in Petit Vouas. Prachtige omgeving waar je heerlijk kunt genieten van de rust aan het meer die in de achtertuin ligt. Mooie wandelgebieden en voor de fietsliefhebber is deze omgeving ook prachtig. Huis en tuin waren top met alle voorzieningen aanwezig. In het huisje naast ons “Grand Vouas” zat ook een hele aardige familie, zeer vriendelijk. Esther en Paul, hartelijk dank voor de fantastische week. We komen graag nog een keer terug.

Prima huisje, zeer compleet. Mooi en rustig gelegen, met een fijne tuin.
Ondanks de lage waterstand van het meer, toch kunnen zwemmen
vlakbij het huisje. Prachtige omgeving, heerlijk rustig overal.

Omdat ons verblijf vorig jaar zo fijn was, zijn we dit jaar weer naar Petit Vouas gegaan. En het was weer super! Het huis met terras is gezellig en alles is aanwezig voor een prettige vakantie. De omgeving is heel fijn: aardige mensen in de buurt, mooie natuur, mooie uitzichten en we hebben veel gezwommen in het heerlijke meer bij het huis. De straatlantaarns gaan 's avonds op tijd uit, zodat je bij helder weer goed naar de sterrenhemel kan kijken (veel vallende sterren gezien!). Deze keer waren de verhuurders zelf in Grand Vouas, het andere deel van het huis. Dat was een leuke kennismaking en het was mooi om te zien dat ze zelf ook zo genieten van de omgeving. Volgend jaar komen we terug!

Restaurants, food & wine
Burgundy is known for its famous wines throughout the centuries. Don't forget to visit one or more of the wine cellars and taste famous wines such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Musigny, Clos-Vougeot, Chablis, Pouilly-Fuissé and Mercurey. An excellent place for wine tasting is the Marché aux Vins in Beaune. It is located in a 13th century building. The Loire wines are also within an hour's drive. If you like good food and are willing to pay a little extra, have lunch at a 3-star restaurant in Saulieu, Bernard Loiseau. But there are also many local restaurants nearby for a more attractive price. And not to forget soon table d'hôtes at our Flemish neighbours.
Activities
The holiday home is ideal to unwind from the daily grind. You can do this in and around the house. Less than 100 m away is the largest reservoir in the Morvan (8km long and over 500 ha surface) the Lac Pannecière, which can be reached through your own garden to its own shore.
At home, in the barn, you can use a table tennis table and a table football game, shuffleboard and dartboard.
Outside the house, there are many activities: For the hiking enthusiast, there are several hiking guides about the Morvan. If you want to make a short pilgrimage during your stay in Les Vouas, the walk to the chapel of Faubouloin is a must. See also Points of Interest on this site.
Apart from sporting activities such as hiking, cycling, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding, rafting and canoeing, there are also many possibilities for other entertainment: brocantes, shopping in the larger towns, local festivities, theatre, music performances, art workshops and meditation and inspiration workshops, good food in the many small restaurants or table d'hôtes in the region. In Saint Honoré les Bains, a spa town, you can enjoy the healing hot water baths, there is a casino, swimming pool, cinema, tennis courts etc.
Nice towns in the neighbourhood are St. Honoré les Bains, Moulins Engilbert, Corbigny, Saulieu.
Larger cities that are very worthwhile are Nevers at 60 km, Autun 40 km, Beaune 95 km, Vézelay and Avallon 60 km.
Especially in the summer, there are numerous flea markets in the various villages and towns that in themselves provide a day's entertainment. The agenda of the flea markets can be found on the Internet.
For the real sports lovers we recommend rafting on the Chalaux or a mountain bike route through the French route planner "Openrunner" explained on our site.

The holiday home is registered by the French Ministry as a "Meublé de Tourisme" and qualified with 3 stars. If desired, the tenant can have access to the evaluation criteria and the formal document.
The holiday home is also registered with the municipality as a holiday accommodation.
Based on both registrations the accommodation meets legal requirements.
The Morvan (from the Celtic: Mar = black and Vand = mountain) is a mountainous area in Burgundy, central France. The highest peak is the Haut-Folin with a height of 901 metres. Also Mont Beuvray, on which the old Celtic city Bibracte is excavated, belongs with its 821 metres to the high peaks. It is well worth a visit. On a clear day, you can see Mont Blanc from the top, at a distance of over 220 km. There is a beautiful museum to visit at the foot of Mont Beuvray, one of the last settlements of the Gauls who were finally defeated by the Romans, led by Vercingetorix, in the nearby town of Alesia in 52 BC.

The amount indicated is the all-in price for the rental ( incl bed linen, towels and kitchen linen). There are additional costs for final cleaning €75, tourist tax ( €0.91 per person per night), electricity (€0.20/kWh) and use of wood (€7.50 per basket). These will be deducted from the deposit. 1 Pet is allowed, additional costs for 1 pet are €50 to be paid with the deposit. Two small pets in consultation, costs for two small pets are € 75,- per stay, to be paid with the deposit.
