The house
This characteristic house, built in 1790, used to be a Relais de Poste: the stagecoaches stopped here, and this was the inn! We live downstairs ourselves, and rent the upper house on the first floor. The upper house has a private entrance, and offers 2 double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen (induction hob, oven, extractor, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and of course pans, cutlery, plates, cups, etc), cosy living room with wood stove (and CV).
For larger groups there is another bedroom in the attic with two single beds.
The house is not suitable for people who have difficulty walking; it is on the first floor and there is no lift. Children 6 years and older are allowed, younger not. Pets only after consultation; we have a dog and a cat, and more animals could give our animals too much restlessness.
Smoking is not allowed in all indoor areas.
We do not have a swimming pool on our property, but our guests may use the facilities of our neighbours, campsite Domaine de la Gagère. They have a beautiful (naturist) swimming pool.
If naturist swimming is not an option, then at 9 km distance in the village of Luzy there is also a beautiful swimming pool.
In addition, the Morvan has many large and small lakes, and in the river Arroux, at 10 km distance, you can also swim.

Surroundings
Our house is situated between the meadows, where there are sometimes sheep or cows, but also often only used for hay production. The meadows are surrounded by vast forests, and right next to our house runs the GR13, a long-distance hiking trail through the Morvan. Total distance is about 175 km, from Luzy to Vezelay.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the Morvan itself, no wine is produced; the soil is not suitable for it. But immediately surrounding it are the important wine regions of Burgundy! Famous wines come from here, like from Meursault, Chablis, Sancerre, Macon, Pouilly-sur-Loire or Beaune. These places, where there are many opportunities to taste the wines, are all within reasonable distance of our house, usually within 2 hours drive.
As for food, the meat of the white cows that graze here is very popular: the Charolais. They provide fantastic meat, because they walk outside for a long time, have a lot of space, and the calves just grow up with their mother - and with a herd in the pasture there is always an adult bull present. There are several restaurants in the area, and we are happy to advise you.
Activities
The surroundings are quiet and dark, really a place for peace and quiet and nature lovers! From the house several walks can be made (there is a folder with some descriptions of walks in the neighbourhood).
Ennadien can give various workshops (we prefer to call it the "Open Studio"), for example working with clay, possibly on the potter's wheel, raku-stoking, painting, wool-felting, ... Fokke can give you tips about photography, or go with you into nature to take pictures.
