The house
This beautiful recently converted farmhouse dates from 1840 and is a fully equipped atmospheric gite. Located in a small hamlet at the foot of the Morvan National Park.
For your orientation: Montaron is close to the towns, Moulins Engilbert, Saint-Honoré-les-Bains, Luzy, Autun and Dijon.
The farmhouse is completely free and has wide views, surrounded by a spacious garden including old fruit trees. In the adjacent meadow are usually cows with calves.
It is a joy to spot the common bird species from our garden. The hoopoe, swallow, bee-eater, green and great spotted woodpecker are regularly spotted.
The garden is sunny all day and there are several terraces and seating areas. Including a covered terrace that has been converted into a summer kitchen. There is also a large barbecue.
The ground floor of 100 m2 is barrier-free and has a spacious living room, a spacious dining kitchen with doors opening onto the terrace, bathroom (shower, washbasin and toilet) and a bedroom with a double bed (160X200).
The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 with a double bed 160X200 and 1 with 2 single beds (90X200), a loft that can also be used as a (bed) room, spacious landing, bathroom (shower and washbasin) and a separate toilet.
Our farm is wheelchair accessible.
The downstairs toilet is equipped with a foldable armrest.
A separate shower chair is available.
There is ample parking space.
For 2 persons there is the intimacy of a cosy, spacious farmhouse as well as for 6 persons.
In January 2024, the house is equipped with a fibre optic cable, for a fast internet connection!
Our aim is for everyone to have a wonderful, relaxing holiday in this fine gite!
It is lovely to stay here in any season. In spring when all the fruit trees are in bloom, in summer with all the fresh produce on the local markets, in autumn with its fruit, nuts and mushrooms. And the serene silence in winter, when after a long walk you come home to a warm house where the wood stove is burning.

Our farm is located in the hamlet of Creule, municipality of Montaron, surrounded by meadows with the occasional stream running through them. The direct surroundings are slightly hilly and wide.
For walkers and cyclists a must to discover this area.
In about 10 minutes you can reach the Canal de Nivernais by bike, where a cycling route has been set out.
Nearby are historic cities, charming typical French villages, castles, weekly markets and in the summer plenty of flea markets.

Voor de tweede keer in Creule onze zomervakantie doorgebracht, omdat het vorig jaar zo ontzettend goed is bevallen. Het huis is sfeervol ingericht en heeft alles wat wij belangrijk vinden. En in de tuin kun je heerlijk relaxen en kijken welke dieren je voorbij ziet komen. We voelden ons meteen weer thuis en welkom met een persoonlijk welkomstbericht, een fles bubbels en een schaal verse kerstomaatjes. Theo, het was weer genieten!!

Een warm welkom met rozen uit de tuin en een flesje bubbels. Wij kwamen hier voor de rust en dat is gelukt!
Dit huis is zeer mooi en smaakvol ingericht en je komt werkelijk niets tekort. Echt alles is aanwezig. Voor natuur liefhebbers, wandelaars en (getrainde) fietsers is het hier heerlijk toeven. Weliswaar niet in de Morvan gelegen willen wij de plaats Moulins (56 km) van harte aanbevelen. Ook de Charolais rundvee veiling was leuk om mee te maken, zeker doen. De Wifi voorziening is matig, dus zorg voor voldoende bundel data. Theo bedankt voor alle goede zorgen, wij zullen jou huis in Creule zeker aanbevelen!

Had the best family vacation in this place! We enjoyed every space inside the house. The rustic theme was so fascinating. It gave us a real country home experience. T & T (the owners) are so nice and generous for letting us consume whatever vegetable or fruit available in their garden. They gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The house is equipped with everything you need for a good home stay. Basic condiments and cleaning stuff were all well provided which is very very helpful and nice. The do's and don't are reasonable and definitely won't spoil your vacation vibe. I recommend this place for a perfect family bonding holiday.

There are several wine regions in the area. Among others, east of the Rhone valley, west of Sancerre/Pouilly Fumé and north of Chablis.
Activities
The surroundings are hilly and offer possibilities for walking, cycling and swimming in lakes and rivers.
On the Loire, you can canoe and swim.
Lac de Panneciére is 30 km away.
Lac de Panneciére has clean bathing water with supervised beaches.
The National Park the Morvan is located at 10 km distance.
The Morvan is a mountainous area where you can still find untouched nature. The landscape is characterized by mountains, hills, vast forests, blue lakes and rippling rivers.
Saint-Honoré-les-Bains is located 10 km away.
It is a nice town with many spa baths and old Jugendstil houses.
Opposite the spa centre is an outdoor swimming pool where it is lovely to linger on hot days.
From Saint-Honoré-les-Bains you can take a walk of about 7 kilometres along dated, but still impressive villas.
Cercy la Tour is located 11 km away.
The old town of Cercy-la-Tour is located in a rocky point at the confluence of three rivers. A paradise for fishermen and hikers. For the cycling enthusiast, there is a beautiful cycle route plotted.
Moulins-Engilbert is located at 14 km.
The beautiful village of Moulins-Engilbert is located against the National Park the Morvan and is the former residence of the counts of Nevers.
Lovers of walks and old buildings will find plenty to do here. The pretty flowered streets, the old picturesque houses, the Saint John the Baptist Church (église Saint-Jean-Baptiste) and the remains of the feudal castle are beautiful. Apart from the real estate heritage, Moulins-Engilbert hosts a world-famous Charolais cow auction every Tuesday morning.
Decize is 24 km away.
The fortified town of Decize is located on a rocky island in the Loire at a crossing of waterways.
Decize has a rich heritage to offer, such as the towers of the city wall and the remains of the medieval fortress, the beautiful "Promenade des Halles", a long road under beautiful plane and linden trees, the ruins of the former castle of the counts of Nevers, the bell tower "tour de l'Horloge" and the Saint-Aré church.
From June to the end of September, boat trips can be made on the Loire. Departure point quay Vieille Loire, not far from the Tourist Office of Decize.
Château-Chinon is 32 km away.
Château-Chinon has had a strategic position since ancient times. It owes this position to an elevation in the landscape from which you can see far to the west. The view from the hill is beautiful.
Autun is situated 65 km away.
Autun is located in the middle of Burgundy and is the gateway to the Morvan.
Until today, Autun is known as one of the most beautiful places. In the medieval centre of this town, you can easily spend an afternoon without getting bored. There is a lot to see and do. In and around the town, the numerous traces of its rich past are still visible. The Roman theatre of Autun is worth a visit, as well as the Roman temple of Janus. A visit to the impressive cathedral is also worthwhile. In addition, the centre has lovely little squares and streets with nice shops.
Autun is definitely not to be missed and is highly recommended to visit.
Vézelay is 82 km away.
Vézelay is possibly the most famous "Plus Beaux de Village de France". It is more than an hour away by car, but certainly worthwhile to visit this village.
Vézelay is a place of pilgrimage with a medieval character, many alleys, terraces and shops. The pearl of the Morvan. You will find plenty of culture, history, religion and art galleries.

Should there be a negative travel advice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or code red/orange after booking, the deposit paid or the entire rental will be refunded to your bank account.
The mobile hot bakery comes to our village twice a week.
Hot bakery at a distance of 2 km in Vandenesse.
Small supermarket in Cercy la Tour 11 km away.
In Decize, 24 km away, there are many nice shops on the Loire. You will also find the large supermarkets here.
Wifi available (fibre optic cable from January 2024).
The kitchen is well equipped including a 5 burner Smeg hob/oven combination, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and kettle.
The living room has a TV with Dutch and Belgian channels.
Washer and dryer are in the downstairs bathroom.

The first 200 Kwh per week for energy is free. This is usually sufficient.

When you arrive, the beds are made.

The rate will be set by the government in 2024.
Tourist tax is calculated afterwards.
The deposit is 150 euros, which we will refund to your bank account after your stay after one week.
Your pet is very welcome! We ask € 25,= extra cleaning fee per stay.
