The house
This beautifully situated, detached farmhouse is located on the edge of a small hamlet called Creule. In the middle of the unspoilt part of Burgundy stands this house that has been converted and fully adapted to today's standards. We have preserved the original atmosphere very well.
On the ground floor of 80 m2 there is a spacious living room with open kitchen, a bedroom, bathroom and the utility room, which has an extra toilet and laundry room. On the first floor is a bedroom and a non-insulated hayloft, a great place for any children to play. Or to meditate, or play ping-pong........
The house is surrounded by a very spacious garden with several terraces and seating areas, with beautiful views of the Morvan in the distance and grazing cows in the foreground.

Situated between the Morvan Natural Park and the Loire basin, here you will find a beautiful, harmonious landscape of meadows, forests, rivers and lakes.
The old Canal de Nivernais, with its many locks, is at 5 minutes cycling distance. Along the whole canal there is an excellent walking/cycling route.
Nearby are towns like Moulins Engilbert, Cercy la Tour, Saint Honore les Bains and Decize.
In the meadow in front of the house are the famous Charolais cows.

Klein dilemma: Eigenlijk wilden wij geen reactie plaatsen, omdat wij zeer tevreden waren en niet wilden dat er daardoor zoveel aanmeldingen zouden komen, dat er voor ons volgend jaar geen plaats meer zou zijn.
Huis: Ruim, van alle gemakken voorzien en toch sober.
Tuin: Zeer groot, met allerlei plekjes om lekker te zitten met een goed boek
Omgeving: Rust, natuur, uitzicht, oude dorpjes, aan de rand van de Morvan

We hebben twee weken genoten van het Franse platteland in dit heerlijke authentieke, ruime boerenhuis, met fijne sfeer en voorzien van veel comfort: goed uitgeruste keuken, betrouwbare wifi, boeken en cd's, grote wilde tuin met verschillende hoekjes, goed bed, rust en privacy. Je kunt er mooi wandelen, fietsen en goed eten in restaurantjes in omliggende dorpjes.

Twee heerlijke weken gehad. Alles klopte: het authentieke huis, inrichting, de boeken en de cd’s, enorme tuin, omgeving, rust en het prachtige weer.
Je kunt heerlijk wandelen in de heuvelachtige omgeving. Prima wifiverbinding en goede ontvangst van de Nederlandse televisie. Een plek om naar terug te keren.
Restaurants, food & wine
There are several wine regions in the area. In the east is the Cote d'Or, while in the west you will find Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire. For both areas you have to drive for an hour.
Activities
The area is slightly hilly and offers opportunities for hiking and cycling, swimming in lakes or recreational lakes. Going into the Parc de Morvan, it gets a bit rougher and you can take mountain bike tours, follow hiking trails and go horseback riding. The house is 2 km from the Canal de Nivernais. A cycle path runs along the old Canal, making it fairly easy to do some longer cycling trips. Beautiful towns with Burgundian and historical character are Vezelay, Moulins Engilbert, Autun and Saint Leger sous Beuvray and are in the vicinity.
Nearby are historic towns, charming French villages, castles, weekly markets and in summer plenty of brocantes and markets with local products.
Montaron is right in between two famous wine regions, the Côte d'Or and the Sancerre vineyards. You will have to drive an hour for that.
