The house
Our gite Montsermage is an attractive natural stone holiday home with a peaceful atmosphere.
The house has recently been completely renovated with preservation of authentic elements. The kitchen is spacious and cosy.
Oven and microwave present. The living room overlooks the sunny terrace and the free garden.
The bathroom has a good shower and a washbasin. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with good beds. There is central heating in the whole house.
In the living room you have a television (with Dutch channels), a DVD player and a CD player.
There is a good WIFI connection.
On the grounds there is a heated swimming pool (7.30 m by 3.60 m and 1.25 m deep) which you only share with the owner. The pool is heated from 1 June to 30 September.

The detached cottage is located on the grounds of our farm. The sunny garden is on the other side, so completely free with a beautiful view. A wonderful place to unwind.
The garden is completely fenced. You can use the heated swimming pool.
The typical French village of Moux-en-Morvan is 3 km away. Here you can do your daily shopping (there is a bakery and a small supermarket with a friendly owner). One village further, in Alligny-en-Morvan, is a cave. Here you will find the good wines of Burgundy.
Lac des Settons, a large and beautiful recreational lake, is only 5 km away from the gite. Around it you will find several nice restaurants and terraces.
Furthermore, the environment here, in the middle of the Morvan, is breathtakingly beautiful. Walking through old forests and along rivers and lakes... Ideal for peace and quiet and nature lovers.

Ik heb 1 week genoten van gite Montsermage . Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. en heeft een heerlijk grote tuin waar mijn hond ook zeer van heeft genoten. Nederlandse zenders op de t.v! Zeer gastvrije eigenaars die mij de nodige informatie van de omgeving gaven. Ik heb daar prachtige wandelingen gemaakt. In Moux -en -Morvan is een kleine supermarkt en bakker.

We komen al jaren naar de gite op Montsermage. Altijd fijn om hier te zijn. De omgeving is prachtig en lekker rustig. Ook genoeg mogelijkheden om een leuk stadje, kasteel of brocante te bezoeken. Zwemmen in Lac Setton en lekker wandelen. Het huisje is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Een aanrader!

Burgundy is known for its good life with beautiful dishes and great wines. We are happy to inform you about the restaurants and caves in the vicinity.
From traditional Burgundian cuisines to starred restaurants. Most kitchens here work with honest products from the region.
Activities
The Morvan is an ideal area for sportsmen and women, nature lovers and those looking for peace and quiet.
There are fantastic walking and mountain bike routes in the vicinity. Cycling is also wonderful here, with the height differences up to 900 metres.
The lake Lac des Settons (5 minutes drive from the gite) offers plenty of possibilities. Walking or mountain biking around the quiet lake is fantastic. 15 km long great
views over the famous Lac des Settons in Burgundy.
And of course swimming from one of the sandy beaches. There is also a sailing school, you can canoe and pedal boat and there is a tour boat.
You can park your car directly at the lake.
Le saut de Gouloux' (10 minutes' drive from the gite) is highly recommended. An idyllic waterfall, 15 minutes walk from the eponymous restaurant (delicious local products,
everything 'fait maison'). The path to it, along the river and/or through the forest, is so beautiful... A magical and restful place!
There are often vide greniers (flea markets) organised in The Morvan, each week in a different village. We have the agenda for you.
The weekly market with local products in Saulieu takes place on Saturday morning, in Autun on Wednesday and Friday morning.
In Dijon, the market in Les Halles is highly recommended. On Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.
Dijon is the capital of Burgundy, where you can stroll through the old town with all its boutiques and terraces. The beautiful Musée des Beaux Arts is a must. The so-called owl route (available at the tourist office) sends you along all the beautiful places in this great city.
Beaune is the wine city of Burgundy. The road to Beaune, through the gite, goes along the beautiful wine regions. So beautiful...
Vezelay is a place of pilgrimage with an impressive Basilica. Nice shops, galleries and terraces.
The surrounding area offers even more cultural attractions. The stories about the Gauls and Romans come to life here.
Bibracte was a fortified Gallic city. An impressive place with excavations and a museum (Dutch speaking guide).
Near Alesia, Julius Ceasar won the battle against the Gauls with great difficulty. You can experience this special story in the Alesia museum. Also fun for children.
