The house
On the quiet church square of Vauclaix, a village on the edge of the Morvan Natural Park, stands the 1868 cottage 'Chez Daniel'. In 2022, the cottage was completely renovated and equipped with all modern conveniences. The house is single-storey and suitable for two people. It has a spacious bedroom with a comfortable double bed (160x200), a modern bathroom with rain shower and a living area with wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, 4-burner induction hob, airfryer, Senseo and fridge/freezer. Bed, bath and kitchen linen are included in the price.
A seating area in the garden (with bbq) invites you to sit outside for a long time and enjoy the silence and the starry sky.
Motorcyclists can park their bikes in an enclosed space. Documentation on activities to undertake (hiking, cycling, water sports, fishing, restaurants, wineries, towns) is available.
The house is located next to the house of the (Dutch) owners who live there. Fresh eggs from the chickens, and produce from vegetable garden and greenhouse and experiences on fun things to do and tasty things to cook, eat and drink are gladly shared.

Approximately 700km from Utrecht.
Shops, petrol station, restaurants, pharmacy, post office, tourist office and bank + ATM at 8km in Lormes. There is also a lake with a beach. At 12km is Corbigny with more facilities. Markets: every Thursday morning in Lormes, every Friday morning in Corbigny, and there is also a large market on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Wat een fijne Gite! Comfortabel en zeer compleet ingericht! Achter de Franse blauwe luiken zit een royale woon/eetkamer, verder een aparte badkamer en slaapkamer. Alles in een slaperig dorpje in de Morvan.

Heerlijk huis, super gastvrij ontvangen. Genoten van het comfort en vooral van de prachtige natuur. Wat is stilte toch onbetaalbaar! Geen grote weg, geen trein, heerlijk!

Chez Daniel is een heerlijke gîte. De inrichting is gloednieuw en gezellig. De grote keuken is volledig geoutilleerd. Het huis ligt op een heuvel met een prachtig uitzicht over het glooiende Bourgondische landschap. Je kunt er genieten van de rust, de natuur en de ruimte. De eigenaar is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Deze gîte is een aanrader.
Restaurants, food & wine
The famous Boeuf Bourguignon, a delicious stew with beef and vegetables, is the local dish. Furthermore, the delicious Gougères (cheese puffs) with a glass of cremant de Bourgogne. And of course, the beautiful cheeses from the region such as Epoisses and Chaource. Wine lovers can choose from the numerous Bourgogne wines.
Activities
The Morvan is a quiet area with meadows, forests, small rivers and large reservoirs. You can go walking (some walks start in the village), cycling, fishing and water sports. There are also nice towns to visit such as Vézelay, Avallon and Autun, often with an impressive history and with nice shops, terraces and restaurants. And of course the routes along the vineyards and wineries of famous wine regions in Burgundy.
From May to the end of August, there are many brocantes (antique and flea markets) in the area, where it is fun to browse for all sorts of things.
Also interesting are Bribacte, a large museum about the Celtic excavations in the area, the view from the Mont Beuvray (821m) and the Castle of Guédelon, which is built with medieval tools only.
