The house
Just south of the Morvan, in the Charolais, in the village of Issy L'Eveque, we have recently (2022) converted part of our house into a Gite. In a beautiful rolling landscape with meadows where the impressive Charolais cattle graze peacefully, we offer you a cozy holiday home with all the basic luxuries.
The house is suitable for 2 persons. A bathroom of 5m2 with walk-in shower and washbasin with toilet is completely new. In the simple but functional kitchen of 15m2 (equipped with a stove, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave) with a nice dining area, you can cook delicious French dishes.
Via the fixed staircase you have access to a spacious living room of 30m2. A sitting area with satellite TV on which all Dutch channels are received, also free use of our wifi internet. Also, the general reception 4G for your own mobile internet good.
The sleeping area is not separated from the salon, but therefore spacious. There are 2 modern beds with electric blankets for when the nights are still cold in spring. The beds can be put together or apart as desired. There is enough space for your clothes or other personal belongings.
All rooms are electrically heated.

Nous avons passé un long week-end dans le gîte de Maria et Cyril : un vrai bonheur !
Le gîte est très joli, ben agencé, suffisamment grand avec une belle vue au 1er étage (la chambre) et la partie du jardin réservée aux visiteurs est une merveille : vue sur les champs et le coucher du soleil, un vrai bonheur d'y passer la soirée après une journée de vadrouille.
Maria et Cyril sont adorables, chaleureux et à l'écoute. Le gîte est indépendant et si vous voulez être seuls c'est possible, mais si vous souhaitez la compagnie des hôtes c'est possible aussi (une bonne soirée en perspective vous attend ! ;)

ClaireWe spent a long weekend in Maria and Cyril's cottage: a real pleasure ! The cottage is very pretty, well laid out, large enough with a beautiful view upstairs. And the part of the garden reserved for visitors is a marvel: view of the fields and the sunset, a real pleasure to stay there, spending the evening after a day out. Maria and Cyril are adorable, warm and attentive. The cottage is independent and if you want to be alone it is possible, but if you want the company of the hosts it is also possible (in this case a good evening awaits you! ;) Thank you again Maria and Cyril for this quiet parenthesis and your kindness. Activities
Our charming village Issy L'Eveque has a good bakery, a small supermarket, a post office, bank with ATM, a hairdresser and a super cosy pub!
The village is surrounded by meadows with Charolais cows that still live in their natural herds. The sloping landscape is intersected by beautiful rivers. In the Arroux and the Loire, both within cycling distance, it is lovely to swim and for birdwatchers it is a paradise with as highlight the rare bee-eaters and shore swallows.
Hikers and birdwatchers can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside directly from the cottage on the nature trail, possibly as far as Compostella... In the evenings one can enjoy the beautiful starry skies without any light pollution, really impressive.
The Burgundy counts many Chateaux, wine houses and besides the great starred restaurants also many simple pubs where you can get a fine three-course menu for under 15 euro in a great atmosphere. Nature is everywhere, the people are hospitable.
From our house you can make nice daytrips to the National nature park the Morvan, the famous wine region Côte-D'Or, or to cities like Autun, Beaune, Bourbon-Lancy with its thermal baths, Vezelay, Cluny and Paray-le-Monial. Along the way, there are cosy markets and flea markets everywhere.
