The house
Our cottage is a traditional servants' house from 1821, suitable for 5 to 6 persons. Where once the cows were stabled, 2 atmospheric bedrooms have now been created.
From the cottage you have a beautiful view of the scenery of the Morvan. You have a sunny private terrace where you can also enjoy this beautiful view, with a spectacular sunset every evening.
You can see the mountains of Mont Beuvray and Haut Folin from here.
It is a spacious and bright holiday home with its own entrance, tastefully furnished and has at the front and back large windows with a beautiful view, a living room with spacious open kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven and gas hob. The gîte is equipped with a wood-burning stove and electric heating. The holiday home is at ground level. The bathroom has a spacious shower with thermostatic faucet. There is also a separate toilet. We can also place a child's bed in the cottage.

You will find Les Coulisses du Morvan in the south of the Morvan. The nearest village Etang sur Arroux is 4 km away. Autun is 20 minutes away by car.
The location of this charming accommodation is perfect on a southern slope so early in the morning the sun shines through the windows and all rooms are extra lit.
When you open the door in the morning you can only hear the sound of the birds and the rushing water in the adjacent stream. You imagine yourself to be alone on the mountain. In the woods you can go hiking or mountain biking. The calves will be put to the test in both cases, because the terrain is anything but flat. But because of this, you will have a different view of the beautiful surroundings at every turn.

Restaurants, food & wine
At 1 hour drive from Meursault and Beaune where you can find the most beautiful wines of Burgundy. These both have a very nice centre with cosy terraces.
There are beautiful wine routes through the vineyards and many picturesque wine villages where you can taste wine along the way. In Beaune, you will also find the very beautiful Hospices de Baune.
Activities
Walking : On the many forest paths and quiet roads, where you will hardly meet anyone. A walk goes directly from your accommodation.
There are also several hiking trails in the immediate vicinity.
Mountain biking : There are several routes.
Swimming: There is an 8-minute beach on the Arroux, in St Nizier sur Arroux, especially nice for children to play. A swimming lake in Thil sur Arroux.
Swimming pools in Etang sur Arroux and Luzy, and of course the big lakes Lac de Pannecière and Lac des Settons.
Fishing: Lakes in Thil and Saint Didier sur Arroux, the river Arroux . And also in the big lakes Lac de Panneciere and Lac des Settons.
Motor or car trips: On the many roads in the Morvan.
Canoe trips: The river Arroux, from Etang sur Arroux to Saint Nizier or Charbonnat.
Etang sur Arroux : Is the nearest village for all necessary shopping such as the bakery, butcher, supermarket, post office, ATM, restaurants, petrol station.
Here is also the Emaus, large thrift chain in France , a beekeeper with honey for sale from the area.
Uchon : From La Chapelle-sous-Uchon, a winding road leads up to the viewpoint at Uchon. You can reach it by car or, with very good fitness, by bike.
Uchon is at 681 metres, "the pearl of the Morvan" is worth the effort. At the top, you have phenomenal views.
You'll also find a geological phenomenon: Les Rochers du Carnaval.
There are a few well-marked walks around Uchon that take you past even more striking rocks.
Autun: An ancient Roman town with many museums, cathedral, Roman theatre, restaurants and terraces. There is also an 11-hole golf course, well worth a visit.
Parc des Combes amusement park: amusement park with attractions for young and old with tourist steam train.
Tree climbing in Givry: In the forests of Givry (10 minutes from Chalon sur Saône in the Saône-et-Loire, 50 minutes from Le Murger) there is a fun outing hidden for children (and their sporty parents). Climbing and scrambling will take you up into the heights and you can swing from one tree to another.
There are three different climbing routes: for toddlers aged 3 to 6, for children aged 7 to 11 and for the real daredevils aged 12 and over.
Not exclusively for children: the oldest participant so far was 83 years old.
Wines : Burgundy is of course famous for its wines. Famous wine towns within an hour's drive are therefore Beaune and Meursault .
Buddhist Temple in La Boulaye : The temple is housed in La Boulaye so in the middle of the hilly Burgundy countryside at a 15-minute drive you will find
the Buddhist temple. It can be visited by tourists.
Bibracte on Mont Beuvray : Bibracte is located on Mount Mont Beuvray, 22 kilometres from Les Coulisses in Burgundy. On this mountain, in the south of the Morvan, there is an extensive area where an ancient Celtic city is being excavated. Here, you can see archaeologists at work, visit a wonderful museum and enjoy hiking.
