The house
Gîte Bas, ground floor, is for 2 people.
Cosy living room with nice views of the garden and rural surroundings. Here is a dining and sitting area, including streaming TV.
The new kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences such as a hob, extractor, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle and Nespresso machine.
The new bathroom has a shower, sink, hairdryer and toilet.
The bedroom has a double box-spring bed and linen cupboard.
Direct access to the private south-facing garden with sun loungers and seating to enjoy the beautiful views. There is also a BBQ available.

The Morvan Nature Park
The Morvan is a protected natural park of around 200,000 hectares that belongs to one of the most quiet and varied regions of France. Here you will find beautiful forests with hills, streams and valleys. There are also old towns with a rich historical and artistic past, such as Autun, Vézelay and Beaune.
You will also find vast forests and lakes such as Lac des Settons or Lac de Pannecière where you can swim, rent boats and laze around or enjoy the restaurants or nature.
In the immediate vicinity you can go climbing, swimming, golfing, mountain biking, horse riding, water sports and tennis. From the cottages you can walk directly into the surrounding forests.
Water is abundant in the Morvan. The Ternin and other rivers originate in the Morvan and therefore this area is excellent for trout fishing, among other things.
The region is also known for its many music and theatre events and brocantes in summer.
The area is home to many historical sites, including Bibracte (an excavation of a Gallic settlement that is now a museum), which are well worth a visit.
In culinary terms, the area has much to offer. You can enjoy Morvan specialities in the restaurants.
The city of Autun (12 km)
Autun has a beautiful cathedral where concerts are held in the evenings in summer, and the Roman Theatre comes alive again on weekends in August. Apart from the cultural and culinary delights, Autun also has a swimming pool, bowling, golf and a tennis court, among other things. Nearby, castles such as Chateau de Sully or La Rochepot are worth a visit.
Autun has a lively weekly market on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Practisch en knus ingericht, goede bedden,gezellige zitjes voor én achter, heel rustig gelegen!
Ook heel goede ligging om vandaaruit de Morvan te verkennen. Mooie , lieflijke, afwisselende landschappen en verrassende stadjes ontdekt!

Een heel hartelijk ontvangst gekregen van Marian en Wout.
Het huisje was zeer netjes en alles was voorzien voor een aangenaam verblijf. Een heel rustige, groene ligging waar je enkel de stilte hoort.
Wij genoten zowel van het bezoek aan enkele dorpen en steden als van de wandelingen en de fietstochten.
De eigenaars waren zeer lieve mensen die de tijd namen voor een leuk babbeltje.

Restaurants, food & wine
The city of Saulieu (25 km)
Saulieu is known as a culinary centre. Evidence of this is the famous and recognised restaurant, Relais Bernard Loiseau, awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide. Saulieu also possesses historical monuments, such as the Saint-Andoche basilica, a masterpiece of Romanesque-cluniac art.
Saulieu (25 km) has a weekly market on Saturdays.
Burgundy wine region (30 km)
From Beaune to Santenay, the famous cycling route winds past vineyards and leads through wine villages with resounding names such as Meursault, Pommard and Puligny-Montrachet. Numerous wine estates, large and small, welcome you for a tasting in authentic Caves.
Activities
The gîte Maison Jouvenaar is in a rural location just outside the village of Lucenay L'Evêque overlooking the hills of the Morvan.
There are several restaurants in Lucenay L'Evêque.
There is also a pharmacy, doctor, supermarket and hairdresser in the village.
All within walking distance.

Arrival at Maison Jouvenaar
On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by Marian and Wout. They speak Dutch, French and English.
Please contact Wout and Marian 1 hour before arrival. They will receive you and show you around the gîte. Should you wish to arrive well after 16:00 on the day of arrival, please let us know.
