The house
La Pommeraie is owned as a second home and has been very stylishly renovated. This house has all modern conveniences, such as central heating, a well-equipped kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. The interior can be called rural chic.
The inside of the house is much more spacious than you would expect from the outside. There is a spacious kitchen with all modern conveniences, such as a large work table, dishwasher and five-burner cooker. The fireplace is a showpiece. There is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. The bathroom, equipped with two large rain showers, is always a success.
A stone staircase leads to the 'salle de manger', a spacious dining room with authentic features, such as the beamed ceiling and old doors. The large dining table can seat 10 to 14 people - it could hardly be more burgundian.
From the dining room you enter the large living room with another huge open fireplace, in which a beautiful wood stove has been placed with a generous seating area to enjoy this extremely warm decor. In the second half of this living room is a day bed for two persons (which can also be used as two single beds), complete with bedside tables and lamps. The French doors lead to the large garden. With its enclosed patio and large terrace, it is ideal for small children and/or your pet(s). With the view and the old barn with mood lighting one can imagine oneself to be in France.
On the ground floor is also the master bedroom, with a beautiful view of the patio and garden. A boxspring grand-lit (which can also be used as two single beds) ensures a pleasant night's sleep.

Roussillon en Morvan is a real Morvan village with a village square where the church, the mairie and the auberge are located. The village is part of the Morvan, an impressive and very varied mountain and hill landscape, with altitudes up to 900 metres. It has had the formal status of 'Parc Naturel Régional' since 1970. The auberge (at only 100m from the house) has a new manager in 2022 and provides some old-fashioned cosiness in the village.
The Morvan consists of woods and forests, hills, girdles and ramparts. But you will also find high mountain peaks of rough granite, raging rivers, beautiful lakes and fantastic wildlife. The Yonne River has its source in the region and smaller rivers also have their starting point here. From the viewpoint 'Panorama du Calvaire', located near Château Chinon, you have a beautiful view of this nature reserve from a height of 600 metres. There are hikes to be made, some of which even pass by the house.
Less than an hour's drive away, you are in the wine region around Beaune, or in the many towns with beautiful old abbeys and Roman attractions, or just relaxing on the banks of a recreational lake.

There is plenty of cutlery and crockery, in the kitchen there is a wide range of kitchen utensils and pans.
