The house

  • Quiet, rural area with some agricultural activity

The nature reserve Morvan is located in Burgundy. The mountain Mont Beuvray is located in the Morvan. At the foot of the Mont Beuvray is the hamlet of Le Rebout and there is our holiday home Mont Beuvray. A small hamlet consisting of 12 houses leaning against the mountain.
The holiday home was oriiginally a farm which dates back to the 18th century. It is a long shaped building with a number of stables next to the house. The view from the grounds is magnificent, and there are stunning views from all rooms in the house. A sense of space and peace will dominate your entire stay. There is very little traffic. The garden is fenced, so children and dogs are safe. Pets are welcome.
The house has a large kitchen with a spacious, fully equipped kitchen area with a large dining table. The seating area has a TV and DVD. There is wifi Internet.
There are four comfortable beds, a bathroom with bath, shower, sink and toilet. There is also a second toilet.
In the garden you will find comfortable garden furniture from where you can enjoy the view. You can play table tennis in an open stable. For children there is a tree house on the grounds that will appeal to the imagination of every child. The swing and the slide do the rest. In the garden there is also a spring that served as a water supply for the hamlet for centuries (until 1970). It is a shallow stone basin through which water flows. It is fenced off for the safety of small children.
The village of Saint-Leger-sous-Beuvray is four kilometers away. There you will find a bakery and a small supermarket for daily groceries. In the nearby city of Autun you will find everything a city has to offer. On Friday morning there is a market on the main square. There are restaurants around the church. In this old city you can taste the atmosphere of centuries.
From your holiday home a 15 minutes walk through the forest brings you to the museum Bibracte. This modern museum is definitely worth it ; It paints a picture of the Gallic civilization. The archaeological excavations on the spot give you a good idea of what life looked like 2050 years ago. This is also a fun daytime activity for children. The view from the top of the Mont Beuvray is breathtaking. Take a picnic and enjoy it whilst having a relaxed lunch. Furthermore, there are countless paths through forests and farmlands with fantastic viewpoints. These offer an opportunity for wonderful walks which the dog, who will certainly enjoy this! .
Leaflets and tourist information is provided in the house. Hiking maps of the area are also there for you to use.

Restaurants, food & wine

In Autun you will find some good restaurants. In Beaune, an hour's drive away, you are at the heart of this wine region with its famous Grand Cru route.
