The house
Your stone house is very rural and quietly located against a hill on a cul-de-sac (1st of 3 houses). The living room with fireplace has a sitting and dining area and radio with CD player. Television with some free channels, no French or Dutch. Kitchen with, among other things, fridge with small freezer compartment and microwave, oven, electric hob, dishwasher and various kitchen utensils. 2 Bedrooms: 1st floor (via narrow spiral staircase in room or stairs outside): 1 bedroom with double bed + single bed and fan. On the ground floor 1 bedroom with a double bed (and extra fridge with small freezer compartment) and open loft (mezzanine) with a single bed. 1st floor: separate room with washbasin. Ground floor: bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. Mezzanine with washing machine and boiler 200L. See also the photos for an impression.

The holiday house is about 18 km below the pretty town of Autun, completely detached against a hill at 400 m altitude with views of trees and mountains. A stream flows nearby. The "Land of 1000 springs" is a wonderful walking/cycling area, either steeply over or more flatly below the mountain ridges. A few go gliding at the top of the mountain near Uchon. At this viewpoint, as well as at Mont Beuvray in the Morvan, you have a view of the wide surroundings. At Mont Beuvray you can discover a rich history (Bibracte) with its museum and discover the excavations yourself or with a guide. Or go to the top near home and walk around Chapelle de la Certenue and find the spring water and enjoy the view. Eight kilometres away is Le Creusot, which has an interesting industrial history in addition to all kinds of shops. Visit the glass museum there at the tourist office and have a lovely stroll through the park and meet the animals ("deer park"). You can also take a dip in Le Creusot's swimming pool. For "old" but also for "young" there is plenty to do, for example in or around Parc des Combes. Autun has a beautiful cathedral where concerts are held in the evenings in summer. The Roman Theatre comes alive every year at the end of July/beginning of August. Un grand spectacle! In addition to the cultural and culinary delights, Autun also has a swimming pool, bowling, golf and a tennis court, among other things. Nearby, castles such as Chateau de Sully or Couches or Savigny les Beaune are worth a visit, as is the Buddhist temple La Boulaye. At the highest reservoir Lac des Settons at 50 minutes by car, you can swim and go boating and pedal boating. Lac de Pannecière for nature lovers. Or closer to Etang-sur-Arroux: find four-leaf clovers along the river or discover la Grotte if religion is your interest.

Ik heb samen met mijn vrouw, dochtertje van bijna 9 en schoonouders (die nog nooit in Frankrijk waren geweest) een weekje in Charbilly en Pré Long verbleven.
Ik ben zelf nu zo'n 20 jaar bekend met de regio Morvan en hou enorm van de rust en en natuur in die hier te vinden is. Dit huisje is een prachtige plek om te resetten. De rust en de natuur is een verademing van een normaal druk leven in Nederland!Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien. De inventaris is zoals in bijna alle (vakantie)huizen gedateerd maar persoonlijk vind ik dat een stukje charme wat vooral niet moet veranderen.
Wij hebben de hottub in deze warme week vooral gebruikt ter verkoeling; een laagje koud water uit de bron erin en niet gestookt.
Onze dochter hebben we vantevoren goed voorbereid op een weekje geen wifi door wat van haar favoriete filmpjes voor de vakantie te downloaden en zo offline toch wat voor haar beschikbaar te hebben. Ze heeft het echter weinig gebruikt want eenmaal in het bos vermaakt ze zich met alles wat ze tegenkomt in de natuur.
In de omgeving is genoeg te zien en te beleven. Wel moet je uiteraard overal een stuk voor rijden. Autun en Bibracte zijn aanraders. De Cavalaire (uitzichtpunt) in Chateau Chinon blijft prachtig (wel een stevige klim). De Lac des Setton is een prachtig (stuw)meer met watersport mogelijkheden en campings/rondvaart/horeca voor wie dit zoekt. Ik kom er zelf echter vrijwel nooit en rij vanaf Charbilly gezien 10 minuten verder naar Lac de Pannecière. Dit is een groter stuwmeer waar rust de boventoon voert. Er mag alleen met vergunning gemotoriseerd gevaren worden. Er zijn vlakbij de imposante stuwdam (Barrage de Pannecière) evt waterfietsen (met of zonder glijbaan) te huur. Overal rondom het meer zijn rustige plekjes te vinden waar je nog alleen kan zitten als je wilt. Een wat grotere en meer gebruikte plek is het strandje in Chaumard.
Op de terugreis een dagje Parijs eraan geplakt (wel even omschakelen na een week rust :)

Dank voor de correcte informatie (vooraf en terplaatse in een map). In een huis zoals dit is zelfredzaamheid een must; door allerlei oorzaken in de natuur kan het zomaar voorkomen dat iets niet altijd werkt zoals sommigen verwachten. Naar mijn idee kies je daarvoor wanneer je de natuur opzoekt in een gebied als dit. Dit is een plek waar de niet veel veranderd moet worden en de tijd stil mag blijven staan. Heerlijke week gehad bij Charbilly

We hebben als gezin een mooie week gehad in en rond het huis Charbilly en Pre Long.
Het huis is heerlijk afgelegen en daardoor zeer geschikt om goed uit te rusten en te genieten van de natuur. De tuin is ruim en je hebt een mooi uitzicht. Voor de hottub moet je de tijd nemen om 'm warm te krijgen, maar vervolgens is het dan heerlijk zitten.
De omgeving is erg mooi en de stadjes in de buurt zijn erg leuk om te bezoeken.
Ook al is het huis niet super-de-luxe, de vaatwasser en de douche zijn prima.
Veel succes en plezier met dit huis, voor jullie zelf en voor de gasten die nog gaan komen!

Activities
In the Morvan, you can experience nature by hiking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, horse riding. Near Autun, you can swim (swimming pool), ride a pedal boat, surf, play golf, play tennis, but also be otherwise active by visiting museums or exploring the historical sites. Cultural trips to Chateau-Chinon (clothing museum among others) or wine tasting in the wine region near Beaune, in fact too many to mention.
There is a 'basic jacuzzi' on the property: our wooden tub/hottub, a home-made and wood-fired outdoor pool (diameter 1.80), since 2022 with inner wall lining against water loss. You may use the hot tub if no restrictive municipal/rural (water/fire) regulations apply and then - once you have brought the spring water up to temperature - you can enjoy it. A unique experience in nature!

Further remarks
Also look at the photos for a good impression* of our cottage - where you can have a wonderful stay in the middle of nature, while having several villages nearby and the big cities are not far by car either. St Symphorien de Marmagne has a bakery. Marmagne has a butcher and two small shops (epicerie and a department store at the jardenerie) for your daily shopping. In Le Creusot and Autun you will find the big supermarkets. There are several good restaurants in the area.
You can access the internet at the "Office de tourisme" (tourist office) in Le Creusot. Also free wifi at MacDo. among others in Le Creusot and Autun. If you have your own internet on your mobile, there is usually coverage at the cottage.
