The house
La Petite Longere is a single storey gite exclusively for adult couples, it is situated in a beautiful old stone longhouse which was completely renovated in 2005 to create a comfortable home with lots of character that retains many original features whilst including modern facilities.
The gite is entered through a traditional Breton arched door into a double height hall with exposed beams. To the left is an open plan kitchen fully equipped for year round self-catering rentals. To the right the spacious dual aspect living room has 2 sofas, an efficient woodburner, dining table and chairs, TV with english language programs and DVD/CD player. French doors open onto the large barbecue terrace which has far reaching views to the distant forest.
The double bedroom also has french doors, plenty of storage space and 2 easy chairs. There is a modern shower room adjacent to the bedroom.
Large scale walkers maps, up-to-date tourist information and a selection of books, board games, DVDs and CDs are provided for guests.

This is a very tranquil setting, it is just a short walk downhill to the river with a forest on the other bank. There are excellent views from the rear terrace and paddock beyond. A built in BBQ and hardwood furniture make an outdoor dining area - this is a good place to unwind after a hard day’s sight seeing - bird watching, lovely sunsets, star gazing - all are right here! 4km to Plessala village with weekly market & shops.

Prachtig gerenoveerde gite, landelijk ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien.

Bregtagne was voor ons niet de eerste keer, maar wel voor het eerst hier, geen spijt, een aanrader vakantehuis nog mooier dan op de foto's, ruimer en vooral de sfeer, die kan je niet echt vastleggen op een foto!
Wat een rust in dit heerlijke , prachtige, volledig ingericht huis, wij voelden ons gelijk thuis, alles was heel schoon en rook heerlijk fris en wat wij nog nooit hadden meegemaakt had de verhuurder allerlei streekproducten als welkom neergelegd, verrukkelijk waren ze!
De omgeving is fantastisch vooral voor wandelaars, mooi en afwisselend en na een dag wandelen weer heerlijk genieten in het huisje en tuin. Wij zijn niet uit eten geweest omdat de keuken zo'n heerlijke plek was om zelf te koken, alles aanwezig en er zijn zoveel heerlijke dingen te koop in de omgeving, dat het een genot is om het te bereiden.
Op ja, nog één ding, s'avonds is het er heel donker, geen straatverlichting, maar wat sterren kan je er zien, geweldig!!!!Petra from Rotterdam,

Restaurants, food & wine
There is an excellent bar-auberge in Plessala, and a good selection of restaurants, creperies and auberges within a 15 minute drive. Local cider, dairy products, pork, vegetables, and of course seafood, all feature on menus. It is easy to find good places to eat in Brittany. We provide details of current local favorites in the gite.
Activities
This location is ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers. There are several walking and cycling trails around the area. Angling and kayaking is available on the River Lie which runs through the valley below the gite. It is possible to join a pony trek through the nearby forest, there is trout fishing in the lake at Plessala along with mini-gold, tennis or boules in the park surrounding the lake. There is a golf course in Lamballe (25km). Inland water sports including boating, canoeing, fishing, water skiing, pedaloes are available on Lac Guerleden. To absorb some of the region's history go to nearby Moncontour, a walled medieval market town, or visit the chateaux at Pontivy, Josselin and Dinan. There are sandy beaches, marinas and rocky coves as well as headlands with footpaths that have outstanding views on Brittany's north coast which is 30 minutes drive from Plessala.

Further remarks
Our gite is exclusively for couples, it is lovely spot to unwind and relax, but there is plenty to see and do locally if you enjoy nature, history, small market towns and good food. It is easy to explore other parts of Brittany - including the wonderful beaches - within a 30 to 40 minute drive on almost empty roads.
We have no restrictions on starting days and short breaks are available.
La Petite longere has been equipped as a proper home suitable for year round occupation.
As owners we live next door and personally maintain the property, each house has separate entrances and private outdoor areas, We are available to answer questions about the area and help guests make the most of their holiday, whilst not imposing on their space.
