Sleeping 4, Papillon Cottage is a haven of peace and tranquility, yet easily accessible to all that beautiful Brittany boasts. It is an hours drive from the ferry port of Roscoff.
Arrive, relax and unwind. Set in the heart of the Breton countryside, yet only a 10 minute drive from the bustling lakeside village of Huelgoat, lies Papillon Cottage.
Sleeping 4 this pretty cottage is perfectly situated to explore all that Brittany has to offer. Ideal for couples or a family.
Inside, the kitchen/diner seats 4. It is modern and fully equipped with a new electric oven and gas hob, as well as a range cooker and slow cooker (ideal for putting on while you're out for the day). The lounge is a cosy space that comfortably seats 6. Here there is a satellite TV, with English channels, a DVD player and PS4 for guests use. WIFI is provided via an AirBox. A wood burring stove completes it's charm. From here the stairs rise to the first floor where there are two traditionally furnished double (one superking) bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Outside there is a little patio with a picnic table, perfect for al fresco dining or an apéritif after a busy day. Venture into the lawned garden and indulge in a quiet sunbathe or keep an eye out for several of the rare butterflies that have been spotted by the owner. The garden is lovely and private but is not fenced so children and dogs must be supervised. Please be aware that there is a well in the garden and although now fenced, children must not be unsupervised.
The surrounding countryside is a nature lovers paradise. Walking and cycling paths are in abundance and at the bottom of the lane lies an old railway line just for this purpose. There is indoor storage for bicycles at the cottage but it is not secure.The property is perfect for your pet too. One small dog is accepted by prior arrangement.
Papillon cottage is ideally placed for both the North and West coasts of Finistere (both can be accessed in under an hour). With an abundance of beautiful and unspoilt beaches you really will be spoilt for choice. Walk or cycle part of the nearby Nantes-Brest canal or venture into the nearby towns of Morlaix or Quimper with their beautiful examples of medieval architecture still intact.

Nearby Huelgoat is a beautiful lakeside village steeped in the legend of King Arthur and renowned for its' amazing boulders. They really are something to behold and the forest is a perfect picture at any time of year.
Here you will find all the amenities that you need to include supermarkets, a pharmacy and English speaking Dr and crêperies and restaurants. The beautiful church in the square holds regular English services too. The weekly market every Thursday is a hub of life and worth a visit.

Es ist ein sehr schönes altes Haus mit viel "Charme" und einer schönen Inneneinrichtung, und einer ausgeprägten Dekoration, die man mögen muss. Das Haus war innen ausgesprochen sauber, was jedoch durch einen etwas muffigen Geruch eingetrübt wurde, den man man nur mit Dauerlüften aus dem Haus bekam. Bei solch alten Häusern könnte eine einfache und günstige automatische Lüftung Abhilfe schaffen. Der Ausfall des Wifi`s fiel nicht weiter ins Gewicht, solange es genügend Bücher gab. Ansonsten war es eine wunderschöne Woche für uns, die noch durch den freundlichen Nachbarshund versüßt wurde. Unser Kaution wurde sehr pünktlich zurückgezahlt. Ein paar Tipps: Eine Wanderung zur "Grotte d´Artus" im Wald von Huelgoat, Croissants vom "Votre`Marche in Poullaouen, Die Stadt Quimper, unsere Partnertstadt Concarneau, sowie Pont Aven sind ein Muss, ebenso der Sonntagsmarkt in Daoulas und der "Sentier", der Küstenpfad auf der Halbinsel Crozon vom Hafen Morgat aus an der Küste entlang Richtung Südwesten: Traumhaft schön!

Papillon is een rustige plek om te verblijven nabij een mooi natuurgebied om bijv. lange wandelingen te maken.
De kamers zijn mooi ruim, het huis is in oude stijl ingericht, wat op zich mooi past. Maar toch zou het fijner zijn de banken te vervangen voor stijlvolle nieuwe, namelijk deze waren echt oud, wegzakkend en stoffig.
Een ruime keuken waarin uitgebreid gekookt kan worden. De matrassen waren (deels) vernieuwd, maar helaas voor mij wat te hard.
De tuin was teleurstellend, het gras voor het huis zoals op de foto's staat, was vervangen door grind. Er was geen tuinmeubilair aanwezig om comfortabel buiten te zitten en bijv. gebruik te maken van de tuin achter de schuur.Danhieux from Neerijse,

Weinig info vooraf waardoor er veel stress was bij aankomst.
Glas breken wordt ook ondanks belofte wel aangerekend. (10 euro!!!!)
Hond van de buren loopt los in onze tuin.
