The house
Unwind in our gîte, right in the heart of France. Spacious living/dining room/kitchen with large fireplace and exposed beams. Large windows overlooking the park-like garden. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances.
On the first floor a spacious bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Both bedrooms also have views of the garden. The master bedroom has a double bed (160x200cm) and the second bedroom has 2 single beds plus a sofa bed.
By the way, our gîte is classified with 3 stars according to French standards. From 2023, we can also offer our guests fibre-optic WiFi.
A spacious garden with swimming pool (only during summer), jeu-de-boules court, several nice seating areas. All around only meadows, fields and woods. Alpacas, sheep and chickens are fun for children and adults alike. Of course, a charging point (for a fee) for electric cars is not lacking either.

Far away from other buildings, in a hamlet with say, 2 houses, lies the holiday home 'le Corbier' in an oasis of peace.
The surroundings are dominated by forests, meadows and fields. The nearest village is about 3 km away. This is a nice bike ride to go to the bakery in the morning to get cracking fresh baguettes or croissants for breakfast. Bicycles are available for free.
The holiday house 'Le Corbier' is situated on a terrain of almost 2 hectares, which guarantees absolute peace and quiet and privacy. Directly adjacent to the house is a park-like garden, surrounded by several meadows where chickens, sheep and alpacas scratch around. There is also a large vegetable garden for the cultivation of unsprayed vegetables for the table d'hôtes. We generate part of our electricity through solar panels. The swimming pool is also heated by solar panels.

Geweldige locatie om tot rust te komen. De gastvrijheid van Guus en Julie is in een woord fantastisch. Een schitterende omgeving om mooie uitstapjes te maken. Kleine plaatsen zoals Sancerre, mooie tocht langs de wijngebieden. Bezoekje aan Bourges, etc. etc. Kortom we hebben genoten.

Tijdens onze vakantie werden we zeer hartelijk ontvangen door Guus en Julie. Terwijl we met de fiets de omgeving opnamen, werd de laatste hand gelegd aan onze Gite (we waren een 2tal uur vroeger dan voorzien toegekomen maar dat was absoluut niet erg voor Guus, die met plezier de beschikbare fietsen op correcte hoogte instelde!). Bij terugkomst werden we in de heerlijke tuin getrakteerd op een lokaal wijntje met bijpassende kaas: wat een ontvangst! 's Avonds genoten we van de tables d'hotes die met liefde door Julie klaargemaakt werd. De volgende dagen konden we genieten van de rust, de omgeving en de leuke Gite. Zeker een aanrader! Bedankt Guus en Julie om ons verblijf zo aangenaam te maken. Onze tieners vonden ook rust en keken uit naar het voederen van de schapen en alpaca's. Ze missen Chen, de lieve hond, nu al.

Op doorreis naar Spanje was dit een zeer aangename stop. De pitstop voelde aan als een mini vakantie.
De gite is dichtbij schattige dorpjes, zoals Sancerre. Zeer sfeervol ingericht, goede keuken spullen en heerlijk bed. Hoogtepunt was de boeuf bourguignon die, op aanraden van Julie, gewoon op de kachelplaat kon sudderen.
Helaas hadden we slecht weer, dus we komen een keer terug om de omgeving beter te verkennen, en dan per fiets! Dank Julie & Guus, tot de volgende keer. Petra & Alex
Restaurants, food & wine
Of course, the Loire Valley in the centre of France is famous for its wines: the vineyards of the world-famous wines Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé are within cycling distance. Go and visit one (or more) caves of the winegrowers for a 'dégustation', and be surprised by the delicious wines and the enthusiasm of the winegrowers.
There are plenty of cosy restaurants in the direct vicinity. In addition, holiday home 'Le Corbier' also offers 'table d'hôtes': for example on the day of arrival it is so nice not to have to cook, but to easily join the host and hostess. Also, once a week, a tasty barbeque meal is organised if the guests appreciate this.
Activities
The Le Corbier holiday home is located in the part of France where time seems to have stood still. The villages in the area are still almost the same as 50 years ago. Rest is in this part of France 'le mot clef
In the Loire Valley, there is the cycle route 'La Loire à vélo'. Cycle to Sancerre or to Appremont-sur-Allier via this route.
The surroundings are woody and slightly hilly; ideal for walking and cycling.
Carting, golfing, canoeing, horse riding, cycle-rail driving, it is all possible in the immediate vicinity.
The cities la Charité-à-Loire, Nevers and Bourges are close by and definitely worth a visit.

The house has central heating, and also a fireplace. From October to March, there is a €40 heating charge per week.
The swimming pool is in operation from May until the autumn holidays (heated by a solar panel)
The Jacuzzi (for adults only) is ready for use all year round.
