The house
Le Pigeonnier, the old dovecote, is a romantic little cottage at Gites de La Richardiere where there are 3 Gites in total. Le Pigeonnier is set slightly apart from the other two Gites. French doors lead directly into the ground floor kitchen/diner.
There is a fully-fitted kitchen area and the equipment includes gas cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and a dishwasher. There is a dining table and chairs to seat up to four people as well as some comfortable seating for relaxation. The shower room leads off the kitchen.
Stairs lead up to the large studio lounge/bedroom. Full length doors open onto a small balcony and from here you will have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. A romantic place to sit and watch the setting sun! The room is equipped with English and French TV and there is Free Wi-Fi.
Outside, there is a private patio with garden furniture and Barbecue. Washing machines and drying lines are available on site.
Our Heated and shared swimming pool is just a short distance away.

La Richardière is situated on a hill between Le Petit Pressigny and La Celle Geunand. The property is surrounded by farmland and is peaceful and tranquil.
All around Gites de La Richardière there are many things to do including walks, Chateaux visits, Restaurants, Rivers and Wildlife Parks.

Restaurants, food & wine
The village of Le Petit Pressigny hosts a Michelin starred restaurant - La Promenade. There are many smaller, yet very acceptable, restaurants in the surrounding villages and there are Vineyards to the North.

Activities
The Indre-et-Loire is situated to the South of the River Loire. From La Richardière many of the areas most interesting Chateaux are within an hours' drive.
We are surrounded by some extremely lovely villages. Our own, Le Petit Pressigny, has a boulangerie, café and a Michelin Star restaurant - "La Promenade".
There are several natural parks and Zoos in the area. The Zoo Parc Beauval is by far biggest and the best with Giant Pandas in the Chinese section.
There are many roads which are relatively traffic free and make excellent cycleways where our guests can travel between villages and there is every possibility of seeing one or more of the wild birds which live in the area.
At the end of the day our grounds offer tranquillity, peace and beautiful countryside views and the heated swimming pool. A great place to relax.

We are a non-smoking environment and we do not accept pets in our Gites.

Additional price info and offers
From 2021 Tourist Tax will be collected by Gites.com at the rate of 1 euro per adult per night. (Ref: 3 star classification).
A Safety/Security deposit is required, in cash or cheque, at the start of every stay and is refundable if there is no damage and the property is left in the same clean and tidy state it was in at the start of the rental.
Towels are not provided for the swimming pool. Guests are asked to bring their own pool towels.
