Architecture, culture, history and water sports are to be found in and around the old fortified city of Langres. On the four lakes of Langres, numerous activities are practised: swimming, sailing, water sports, boating, fishing, ... Meet Voltaire in the castle of Cirey-sur-Blaise, Renoir in his studio in Essoyes, Rimbaud in the old mill of Charleville-Mézières. The Tuffière of Rolampont is home to the most extensive deposit of fossilised peat in the Haute Marne, an exceptional and protected ecosystem. From Rolampont, you can follow a marked hiking trail. The route leads among other things along the remains of the Gallo-Roman mausoleum in Faverolles and the archaeological workshop. In Chaumont, you will find the largest 19th century stone viaduct in all of Western Europe. In Andelot-Blancheville, there is a settlement from the younger Stone Age Fort Bévaux. The first settlement dates back to 3000 B.C. The 16th century stained glass and half-timbered churches tour starts at the abbey church of Montier-en-Der. A 60 km tour through picturesque villages with the most beautiful churches. And don't forget the beautiful old city of Nancy with its world heritage Stanislasplein. Colombey les deux Eglises: home of Général de Gaulle, and the city of Dijon with its beautiful old houses, trading centre, Burgundy wines and mustard production.

Wellness: treat yourself to the natural hot springs of Bourbonne-les-Bains. La Station Thermale is open from March to November. Hiking and walking: with more than one hectare of forest per inhabitant, the Haute-Marne is a paradise for hikers. Long-distance footpaths (GR) represent around 1900 kilometres of paths through mountains and valleys, along canals or lakes and deep forests. Historical trails can also be found in the Haute Marne: Via Francigena, from Clairvaux (Aube) to Haute-Saône via Langres. And the Jeanne d'Arc path, part of the route to Santiago de Compostela.

Crafts: Nogent the knife-making town, Cast iron factory in Osne-le-Val, Basketry in Fayl-Billot, Pottery in Luzy-sur-Marne. In Passavant-la-Rochère, you can watch glassblowers at work and admire their beautiful pieces and/or purchase them in the cosy shop. There is a varied choice and also various small glass articles are for sale.

Tasty products: The champagne region is of course known for its champagne. A visit to a champagne house cannot be missed. A number of houses are located in Epernay, where, among others, the world-famous Moët & Chandon is based. In the vicinity of Chablis, there are plenty of opportunities for wine tasting. In the cellars of Coiffy-le-Haut and Vaux-sous-Aubigny, the most delicious country wines are for sale. New: discover the Flower Wine!
Langres and its surroundings are known for the quality of its regional products. In Langres, Saulxures and Andilly and Bassigny you will find cheese factories making delicious Langres cheese, Gruyère, Emmentaler, Carré de l'Est, Saulxurois and goat cheeses and the famous Caprice des Dieux comes from Illoud.
For les bières de Haute Marne, visit Giey sur Aujon. Here you can visit the brewery Brasserie de Vauclair. Visit the distillery of Fougerolles, where eau-de-vie is made from plums and pears, among other things. Visit a truffle field and watch a demonstration of truffle hunting with truffle dogs. Bronze trout and salmon in Marmesse, crayfish in Thonnance-lès-Joinville, snail farm in Meures, pigeon breeders in Richebourg.

Nigloland is a must for the children! Or take them to the 102-hectare Lla Bannie nature park near Bourbonne-les-Bains, where the local fauna lives in complete freedom. Between Andelot and Bologne, you can practice an activity called Cyclo-rail. This activity is done on disused railways. A 14-kilometre stretch has been set aside for this family activity.
