The house
Ground floor: cosy living room with sofa and chairs around the big fireplace, excellent audio installation, open connection with modern equipped kitchen, stylish dining room, bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine. Large barn with 2 bikes and wood storage.
First floor: 2 bedrooms with 1x double bed and 2x single bed.
Large loft with comfortable sitting area with TV with Dutch channels, video and DVD. Spacious bathroom with shower, 2 separate sinks and toilet. The house can be heated centrally.
This originally 18th century farmhouse with stables was completely renovated by us a few years ago and with its old oak beams and antique tiles is a wonderful place to unwind.
In the large garden there are easy wooden chairs, on the terrace a dining table. Sun loungers, a parasol and a hammock are also available. Everywhere around the house you can find shady or sunny spots.

The former farm Le Courtil Prenne is located in a dead end in a village in the beautiful scenery of the Thierache. Forests are alternated with meadows with grazing cows and fields. Streams meander through the centuries-old landscape. In the large garden you can relax under the plum tree, in the hammock or on the terrace under the parasol. In this part of France it is still really quiet and you can enjoy the beautiful starry skies.

We hebben twee heerlijke weken gehad in Le Courtil Prenne, een sfeervol, authentiek en comfortabel vakantiehuis. Rust, ruimte, privacy, mooie (klassieke) muziek, gezellige koeien en prachtige zonsondergangen.

Good restaurants in Plomion and Vervins.
Further south in the Champagne region, you will find a variety of good restaurants in different price categories. A visit to the champagne cellars in Reims is also worthwhile.
Activities
A wonderful area for walking: a guide with marked walks can be found in the house. A challenge for sporty cyclists because of the "false flat".
Kayak and canoe trips through the valley of the Oise.
Swimming in the new outdoor swimming pool in Chaourse (8 km) and in the new swimming paradise in Hirson (with sauna and bowling alley). 25 km to a beautiful lake in the Ardennes.
Old historical cities like Reims and Laon are very worthwhile.
EuroDisney Paris is 2 hours away. Paris is 2.5 hours away.
Beautiful golf courses near Laon (Golf d'Ailette) and towards Reims (Menneville).
