Amy from Shropshire,
This is our third week in France and during a pandemic no less, but this by far has been our favourite week. Lovely updates from Penny & Robert ahead of arriving meant we fealt really comfortable here the moment we opened the door. Lovely home, lovely pool and a super location. Given Covid we have not eaten out lots but we enjoyed a lovely seafood lunch in Gruissan, a birthday celebration at Chateau du Paraza and looking forward to tapas tonight at l’oncle Jules in Ginestas. La Domaine Herbe Sainte is THE place to buy some fantastic wine, the Sauvignon & Cinsault are fabulous. Thanks to Rob & Yvonne too for such a well-looked-after villa – really properly clean, reassuring in these difficult times. Le Somail was a late find, should have paid attention to the advice of the Clarkes to visit early on – great bars and restaurants right on the canal. We will be back. Thank you, Penny & Robert, for opening up your home to us. You have a beautiful corner of France here. Amy & Mark [From our guest book]
Mandie from Kent,
A well maintained, clean, comfortable extremely well equipped villa, with enough crockery and cutlery to load a full size dishwasher, and still have mugs and plates to use. Oyster knives to a proper tea pot, baby alarm to washing machine! Penny and Robert have thought of everything.
The pool in the beautiful mediteranean garden was a real plus, with enough sunbeds, chairs, pool towels and sun umbrellas.
Close by there is the picture perfect "Le Somail ". A great place to spend a lazy lunchtime in one of the four restaurants, or listen to a jazz band in the evening, Or, just watch the antics of the would be captains on the canal du midi as they negotiate the bridge!
Bread shops in the charming village of Ginestas are great for morning croissants, and the local Intermarche supermarket is a 5 minute drive away.
Try the Three pigs pub in the village for a simple lunch, or you maybe lucky enough to be treated to a a four hour musical extravaganza!! (see photo)
Thank you Penny and Robert for an amazing stay in your beautiful villa. We will definitely return to explore more of this fascinating region, and will recommend it to all our friends and family.
MacWight from Isle of Wight,
We have been coming to the Aude since 1991, an area that we obviously love, and have had a holiday home in St Nazaire d’Aude for the last 13 years. Having sold our holiday home last year we were very apprehensive about returning to the area and feeling bereft. Your lovely villa has completely won us over - we have hardly given a thought to our previous home! We have felt so comfortable here and every renter’s need has been catered for. It has been the most lovely, relaxing week and the weather has been wonderful.
