The house
The interior is modern, fresh and light. All rooms are air-conditioned, each with its own controls. There is a fully equipped kitchen including kitchen towels. It is not necessary to bring bed linen and towels for the bathroom. Furthermore, the gite is completely independent with private entry and parking. You can walk to the swimming pool via a path in the garden along the vines. The pool ( 4 x 8 m, depth 1,70 - 2 m ) has a beautiful wooden terrace where you can relax on one of the deck chairs. The gite is 70 m2.
Montpeyroux is easily accessible on foot, within five minutes you are in the center where you can find the bakery, the butchers, etc. If you like you can enjoy a meal on the beautiful square of our village.

The gite is located in Montpeyroux in the Herault, in the south of France. Montpeyroux is an authentic wine village with many winemakers. In the village there are several shops, such as the bakery, the butcher, a grocery store and various restaurants. The gite itself is surrounded by vineyards. The owners are also grape growers themselves. The department Herault is known for its diversity in the field of natural beauty and culture. Within a radius of 30 minutes are three 'Grand Site de France' namely Cirque de Navacelles, St Guilhem-le-Désert- Gorges de l'Herault, and Lac du Salagou - Cirque de Mourèze. In addition there are several caves, picturesque villages, and beautiful cities such as Montpellier and Béziers. The beautiful Templar village of La Couvertoirade is a short hour's drive away, which is certainly worth a visit. You can also visit the world-famous city of Carcassonne which is an hour and a half drive. If you would like to go to the beach, you can get there in 45 minutes.

De gîtes is heel mooi en praktisch ingericht. Het zwembad, de airco en het terrasje zijn een grote troef om maximaal te genieten. De rust en het uitzicht zijn niet te evenaren. We komen zeker nog eens terug!

Restaurants, food & wine
Wine lovers are at the right place in Montpeyroux. In addition to the many private wine cellars, there is the well-known wine cellar of the 'cave cooperative' CastelBarry. The owners of the gite are themselves part of this 'cave cooperative' and are inviting you to visit the wine cave in the village. You can also taste the wines. There are two restaurants in the village.
Fans of authentic markets will be in their element on Saturday morning in Gignac (5 km from the gite) or Lodève (20 km) where you can find, besides for instance fruit and vegetables, also a lot of arts and crafts such as potters and glass workers.
Activities
The gite is situated in a natural environment with hils, mountains and lots of vineyards. Lake Salagou is a 20 minute drive from the gite where you can practice sailing, swimming, stand-up paddle and other water sports. From the gite you can start one of the many hiking trails and by bike you can climb the Col du Vent (703m) which is located a few kilometers from Montpeyroux. There is plenty to do for children too. For example, in the Grotte de Labeil just above Lodève, you can choose an attractive parcours, one with the family that differs from the normal visit. Also in the Grotte de Clamouse you can practice speleology in the cave. In the neighborhood there is also possibility to visit an animal park with domesticated animals from all over the world. Or you cycle over abandoned train tracks while admiring the beautiful landscape.
