The house
LA TERRASSE is a spacious apartment with a good mix of old French charm and modern, high specification facilities. Situated on the ground floor in an elevated position from the garden, this lovely double-aspect apartment benefits from a very large, wrap-around, wisteria-covered and balustraded terrace, enabling one to maximise either sun or shade according to the time of day or season. The large terrace area and the high ceilings within contribute to the overall sense of space that pervades.. The apartment comprises large living/diningroom with fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven and hob, microwave etc. Worktops are granite. There is one double and one triple bedroom, each of which has access to a different part of the terrace as does the living room. From the terrace there are lovely views of the garden, pool and the surrounding hills of vines and cherry orchards. There are two shower rooms, one of which is ensuite to the triple bedroom. As with the kitchen, the shower rooms have been completed to a high specification.

We are situated in an idyllic valley location just a few minutes from the charming old market town of Ceret, and a short walk from the nearest small village of Le Pont, where there is a bakery, 2 restaurants, pharmacie, post office etc. The nearest supermarket is a very short drive away. We benefit from the tranquility of our immediate surroundings and the close proximity of Ceret. There are numerous lovely walks direct from the house, but if one so desires there is the trans-Pyrennean footpath (GR10) within easy reach by car. The pretty, informal garden is home to many birds and their song is an ever pesent joy - early morning and whilst partaking of that early evening glass of wine! Much effort has been taken to create a perfumed garden, with jasmine, wisteria, and other intoxicating blooms. From the garden one may access a small river, accross which one may access a circular walk around the surrounding hills with views of the mountains and the distant Mediterranean

Restaurants, food & wine
There are 2 restaurants nearby, but many others in Ceret itself. They range in price and quality and it is fun finding out ones preferences. It takes a lot to beat a meal in La Place des Neufs Jets in the old town of Ceret. Often there is a musician playing whilst you eat. It has great atmosphere. For wine lovers, there are lots of opportunities to visit vineyards and do some tasting. Some vineyards provide lunch whilst you taste!! Local wine - the vin de pays - is very good and not expensive.
Activities
Golf is within around half an hour away. Bicycles can be hired in Ceret. Water sports available at the coast which is around half an hour away. Yoga in the town
