The house
Charming and completely renovated house of about 1850 in a quiet side street of picturesque Genêts.
Hallway with door to the living-dining room and door to the courtyard. Living room of 25 m2 with sitting area (3-seater sofa, coffee table and two rocking armchairs, TV with satellite broadcasting - unfortunately no BVN, DVD player, record player, good internet with code and nice dining table in front of the fireplace, a bookcase, built-in cupboards with crockery, glasses, etc. Open passage to the new built-in kitchen (dishwasher, oven, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, ceramic hob, Senseo coffee machine, kettle and lots of kitchen utensils). Note: the kitchen is very fully equipped but slightly narrow. Door to the utility room with washing machine, drying rack, microwave, second fridge/freezer (partly used by us) and access to the second WC with basin. From the scullery, you also access courtyard and garden.
In the living room, there is also a door to the stairs. 1st floor: you will find a spacious landing and a semi-open space with secretaire, a cosy reading-bed sofa, the door to the luxurious and spacious bathroom with 90x90 shower, bathtub, washbasin, radiator-towel dryer and hanging WC. The door to the bedroom ( 160x200m bed with top deck mattress for extra comfort, reading lights, bookcase, wardrobe, rattan armchair , small table, large mirror) . The ceilings upstairs are about 2.20m high.
Behind the house, in front of the barn, there is a nice, sheltered backyard with table and adjustable 4 armchairs/chair cushions-and a Weber BBQ! The deep garden is 40m long. On the lawn you will find fruit trees, camellias, a palm, a laurel, a eucalyptus tree ...there is a second table with 2 chairs, a lounger . Above all, lots of sun!!! Nice view of ancient trees.
In front of the house the car can be parked effortlessly. Bicycles can be parked in the backyard.
ON ARRIVAL, THE BED IS MADE TOGETHER ( 2 duvets), on the reading bench there is also a sheet so you can move out. There are also towels and and bath mat provided, tea towels, cleaning products in the kitchen are not missing. I myself make sure everything is well taken care of on arrival. My kind neighbour provides the key. Please no pets .

Our house is in the old core of a village of 420 inhabitants with facilities. There is a bakery, a small grocery shop, a 'brocante', a pottery maker. Restaurants such as "Chez François" where meat is roasted in the fireplace (reservations a must), an eatery for afternoons, a "La Pauze de Genêts" with a super nice garden and conservatory where one can also settle down on the terrace for an ice cream sundae or a wine. You will find a pizzeria on the campsite. The bus goes regularly on the main street to Avranches or Granville, also stops at Carolles/ Edenville near the kilometre-long beach. Those wishing to venture a "traversée" (a guided crossing on foot to Mont Saint Michel) can also book it at two places in the village.
The closest beach can be found in Dragey - with a beach pavilion!

Leuk en gezellig huisje, schoon en heel compleet. mooie badkamer, keuken is een beetje onhandig, erg smal. Bed goed maar wat lastig instappen. Huis ligt midden in dorpje, leuk contact met de buren. Goede bakker en kleine kruidenier op loopafstand evenals enkele restaurantjes.. Ruime en stille tuin.

Mooi gerestaureerde woning in een rustig dorpje in een van de mooiste hoekjes van de Normandische kust. Aan de voorzijde van de woning de gezelligheid van het charmante dorp, achter de rust van de lange tuin met “en pierre” muren. De enige snelweg in de buurt is voor de trekvogels. Rustzoekers zullen zich hier volledig op hun gemak voelen. Het authentieke huisje is van binnen puntgaaf opgeknapt. Wij voelden ons verwend. Een detail van deze originele woning is wel dat de deuren laag zijn. Voor ons was het oppassen. In de directe omgeving zijn veel wandelmogelijkheden. Iedere avond maakten we een wandeling over het kustpad vanuit het huisje.

Numerous options in Avranches - the price level is very pleasant, and Grandville, which is more expensive due to its fame. Eat there by the harbour!
Activities
Genêts is situated on the other side of "La baie du Mont Saint Michel". Several mudflat hikes to Tombelaine, the small and uninhabited sister of the Mont Saint Michel and of course to the world heritage site "Le Mont Saint Michel" are offered from Genêts - with a guide. An absolute must! Furthermore, there are endless hiking trails with beautiful views of the two islets or around the Abbey of Lucerne. The charming town of Avranches is about 15 km away with its lively Saturday market. Beautiful sandy beaches up to one kilometre wide can be found in Carolles. But a few kilometres further on, Granville, "the Nice of the North", the fashionable town with its harbour and boats to the Chausey archipelago, museums for all tastes, the birthplace of Christian Dior (in July/August with tea pavilion in the beautiful garden), also offers shopping streets with allure...
