The house
You will stay in the lower part of the house on the same level as the pool with separate entrance. Of course, you can use the balcony via the outside stairs. There is also a lounge sofa and seating area at the front where you can enjoy the evening.
KITCHEN
The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with oven/microwave, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The washing machine and hoover are located in a separate boiler room.
LIVING ROOM
The main living room cum open plan kitchen and dining room leads through a 2nd (games) room to a covered terrace where there is a 2nd small fridge, overlooking the pool and surrounding countryside.
BEDROOMS
There are 2 large bedrooms, 1 with a double box spring and 1 with twin beds. Both rooms have a wardrobe and possibly space for a cot (present).
BATHROOMS
There is a bathroom with washbasin, WC and shower. A 2nd toilet is located in the pool area next to the pool.
Next to the pool is an outdoor kitchen, a stone BBQ and outdoor shower.

ENVIRONMENT
The immediate surroundings and region (only the South Charente) are very similar to the Tuscan landscape. During the summer you are completely surrounded by sunflowers. After Provence, it is also the region with the most hours of sunshine in France.

We hebben heerlijk genoten in les brandes. Wat een ruimte en rust en mooi uitzicht.
Alles was tot in de puntjes perfect geregeld.
De drankjes stonden al koud voor ons bij aankomst.
Zwembad heerlijk , veel zit en lig plekken en heel stijlvol. We hebben alleen maar buiten geleefd maar dat is begrijpelijk met de mooie week qua weer die wij hebben gehad. . Ook Fred , de onderhoudsman, is een hele aardige man. Waarmee we diverse malen gezellig hebben gekletst. Hij kon ons veel over de omgeving etc. vertellen. .
We zijn naar chalais geweest en er was toevallig markt en hebben wat gedronken bij le Flore. Heerlijk lokaal met stamgasten etc. s-avonds zijn we daar gaan eten . Ook hebben bij des Halles in montboyer gegeten . . Wat was dat heerlijk , een echte aanrader.
Bedden waren ook heel goed .
Kortom een geweldige vakantie gehad .

Culinary and wine
This region of France is an absolute delight for lovers of fine food and wine. There is such a variety of food within a radius of a few kilometres. Something for everyone! Locally, there are several really good vineyards to choose from and further afield, but not too far, the famous vineyards of Bordeaux and St Emilion. The local speciality is the Pineau des Charentes. This is a widely drunk aperitif in France but also increasingly in our country. When Pineau is produced, the freshly pressed grape juice is fortified with cognac. Pineau cannot therefore be called a fortified wine. In terms of taste, there are major differences. The taste is more or less sweet. Pineau des Charentes is served lightly chilled as an afternoon aperitif. It is also fine with dinner, as an aperitif, as an ingredient or in a nice mix with other drinks.
10 minutes' drive to Aubeterre Sur Drone, Montmoreau and Chalais, where you will find a number of restaurants and supermarkets.
At weekends there are stalls selling delicious oysters, mussels, cockles etc from Ile d'Oleron. 2 different ones on Saturdays in Chalais and 1 at the Montmoreau market and 1 on Sundays in Montmoreau.

What to do
Near Aubetterre Sur Drone, where you can canoe, 20 minutes drive away is the Longeveau golf course.
Fishing can be done in the river La Tude.
