Family Fishing In France

A tranquil, holiday destination for the whole family - including your pet! Our 400 year old farmhouse sleeps 8 and is dog friendly. It is set within 5.5 acres of landscaped grounds including a 1.5 acre well stocked fishing lake, orchard, sun terrace, games area and pool. All exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.

The Charente is the second sunniest region of France so we have obviously placed plenty of emphasis on the outdoors. This might be a relaxing walk around the lake or exploring and taking in the abundant wildlife. It could be laid back on a lounger, soaking up the sun, or floating on a ring in the pool while you read a book. You can exclusively fish the spring fed lake or if you fancy something a bit more sociable you can sit around the bbq and play any number of outdoor games.

The lake is stocked with a head of carp to almost 60lb and growing. There are also sturgeon, catfish (to almost 100lb), grass carp (to 40lb), koi, tench, pike and roach.

This is a holiday destination for the whole family. The living room comes complete with full Sky tv, so there's plenty of sport and several movie channels available including the football and F1, plus all the usual children's channels including Disney.

Upstairs there is a second tv with an Xbox 360 and plenty of games as well as another dvd player so there should be disagreements regarding what to watch. The kids room also comes with an assortment of games and books.

The gamesroom comes complete with a full size snooker table and dart board while the sun room is equipped with nothing but pleasant views, plenty of light and big window sills or sofas on which to chill and catch up with some reading.

The house is available all year round and comes complete with full central heating as well as a log burner in the main living room.

We have tried to take the best we have seen from our years of holidaying in France so we hope you'll want for nothing. Bedding and towels are included so you can travel lighter and we have a dishwasher plumbed in as well as all the usual mod cons. The kitchen comes complete with kettle, coffee-maker and Tassimo.

The house is located on the border with the Dordogne and Limousin. If you like the outdoors then you are in the heart of some beautiful countryside, the Perigord Limousin National Park is only 300 metres away and the area is crossed by fantastic cycle routes. You are only 10 minutes away from the great lakes of the Upper Charente and their beaches, watersports and restaurants.

If you need a little bit of retail therapy you are only 15-25 minutes away from the picturesque towns of Montbron, Rochechouart and Chabanais but if you need something larger you are only 45 minutes from Angouleme and 50 minutes from Limoges.

Kitchen and dining
The light, bright sun room has a solid oak dining table with seating for 8 people. If you prefer to eat 'al fresco' there is an extensive sun terrace with table, seating and a large brick bbq to ensure evenings can be spent making the most of the summer sun.

There are also 2 picnic tables placed around the grounds, one in the orchard and one by the lake.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything to make it home from home including a double oven and grill, microwave, coffee-maker and Tassimo. The gite also includes a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, a separate drinks fridge, iron, ironing board, clothes airer and hairdryer.

Living rooms
Inside the living room you will find 2 large sofas and a small dining table. Full Sky tv including Sports and Movies is provided along with a dvd player, approximately 150 dvds and a 50" tv. There is also a bookcase full of good reads.

During the winter the log burner can be lit to add a cosy feel to the gite.

The sun room looks out on to the garden and has three large, low double windows keeping the room bright and airy. There are two leather sofas in addition to the 8 seater dining table.

Bedrooms
The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed with side tables and a large wardrobe. There are 2 arm chairs providing a reading and relaxation area. The ceiling is vaulted with original exposed beams. The master bedroom is upstairs and is accessed through the children's bedroom.

The second bedroom, situated downstairs, includes a king size bed, side tables and built-in wardrobes. This room is situated at the front of the property.

The third bedroom is furnished for children as it includes a bunk bed, single bed and a single pull out trundle. There is an Xbox 360, tv and dvd player plus a selection of children's games and books.

All bed linen and towels are provided as standard.

Bathrooms
There is a bright and airy bathroom with bath, sink, separate shower and toilet. An additional wc is also located within the gite.

Heating
The house includes full central heating which is exceptionally warm in winter months. The living room includes a log burning fireplace and there are also oil filled radiators for use if you want to take the edge of a chilly spring or autumn evening.

The gite is furnished to provide guests with all of the comforts of home. Our aim is to ensure you don't want for anything.

We have full Sky tv including Movies and Sports, wi-fii, countless dvds and books. There's a Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 with games.

The games area has a full size snooker table and darts board. Outside there is the pool plus countless games such as boules, badminton, skittles and a football goal.

Garden and outside
The farmhouse includes exclusive use of the 5 acres of grounds it is set within. These grounds include the lake, pool, a large orchard, woodland and no shortage of lawned areas. The grounds are fenced to the floor all the way around and therefore secure for children to go exploring or dogs to go running around.

The patio area includes a large bbq, patio table for 8 people and 6 sun loungers. We have a large 5 metre above ground pool and extensive grounds of over 3 acres for your exclusive use.

The grounds include an orchard with picnic table, normal lawned areas plus a 1.5 acre well stocked lake. There are numerous ancient trees around the lake making for pretty walks where you can take in the wildlife.

The lake includes a head of carp to almost 40lb and growing plus sturgeon, catfish, pike, tench, grass carp and roach. There is a pretty little island to fish from or just sit and relax on.
