Our gite has a beautiful view of the lake, which in every season has its own relaxing charm. All our guests are delighted by the cosy asmothpere you will find here, for instance during the barbecue, and people always leave with the most beautiful memories. The terrain is 100% car-free, so your children can play safely with their holiday friends.
In Creuse, a relatively unknown area, a variety of activities and discoveries await you. Aubusson with its tapestries, the magical Pierres Jaumâtres, the Chateaux, Abbatiales, the lake of Vassivière, the valley of the painters, the gardens, the volcanoes of the Auvergne: Creuse is full of surprises. You will find relaxation, walks, trips to culture or nature, treasure hunts, fishing, swimming, barbecue, outdoor games, communal activities for all tastes (chess, Tai-Chi, volleyball).
Our gite, suitable for 4-6 people and 45m2 large has an open plan kitchen with oven, dishwasher, hob, sink and kitchen counter plus a fridge-freezer combination. The dining area has a table which seats six people easily. There is also ample storage space.
On the ground floor you will find a bedroom with two single beds and cupboard, there is enough room to place a children's cot. Also on the ground floor a separate wc and bathroom with shower and wash basin. In the living room there is an elevated area with two sleeping places, it has the feeling of being in a separate room.
On the first floor is the second bedroom with two single beds and a wardrobe. All our beds can be made up as doubles or placed separately according to you needs. The rooms are heated by means of radiators. A glass wall and a door give acces to the wooden terrace (10m2) with garden furniture, sun chair and small garden with fragrant plants.
There is a sunscreen so you can also enjoy the terrace on warmer days.

The surroundings of our gite are simply magnificent. The Creuse country side is really beautiful with its forests, hedges, meadows, dry walls and trees. The village and lake enjoy the wonderful light in every season and in August one can marvel at starry sky and falling stars. The gite is an excellent starting point for several walks, from 30 minutes to two hours or even the whole day if you feel like it!

Restaurants, food & wine
Apart from the hazelnut pastry le Creusois, cheese fondue with chips, le Fondu Chreusois and Pâté with potatoes there are many more traditional dishes which can be garnished with fresh herbs from the garden: potée, boeufs braisé, petit salé, etc.
Local restaurants offer traditional cuisine with menus at very reasonable prices, especially at lunch time.
Near our property is a very pleasant place to eat, Guinguette de la Naute where during summers concerts are organised twice weekly.
Activities
You could start with fiishing in the morning, then do a few laps in the swimming pool and visit a castle or go to Aubusson, city of tapestries, in the afternoon. In weekends you can enjoy the lively markets and flea markets in of the many villages in the area.
If you then add a treasure hunt, a good long walk, a visit to nature reserve Etang de Landes, ropes course in Pierres Jaumâtres, taking a dip in the lake on top of the Mille Vaches plateau, visit Felletin for the great market followed by a concert at night in la Naute, you will discover that a holiday in Creuse is always too short!

Further remarks
Our gite is situated on a cosy domain with 14 gites, each with its own space and private terrace. Cars stay on the parking lot and we have a wheel barrow for your luggage. There is a play ground with slide and swings on site. In summer we have a modest restaurant on site, with our summer dishes but also ice cream, coffee, tea, beer, wine etc. Due to safety of the children we can only accept pets outside the summer months (July and August)

The rental price does not include bed linen and cleaning.
We ask for a 30% deposit when booking and the final payment before the arrival date.
Change over day is normally Saturdays but outside high season this can be a day earlier or later.

Wij hebben met ons gezinnetje van vijf (twee volwassenen; 35&37 en drie meiden 10, 4 & 2) een geweldige tijd gehad bij Anne en Fred. Een magistrale omgeving, ontzettend vriendelijke mensen, lekkere wijn, vriendinnetjes voor de meisjes en warme zomeravonden voor ons. Toen we aankwamen vroegen onze dochters om de tv en de wildwaterbaan, na een dag heb ik ze er nooit meer over gehoord. Terwijl ze bang zijn In het Nederlandse bos en zich thuis voelen op de drukste dag van de rollende keukens heb ik ze zelden zo gelukkig gezien als op deze prachtige Etang. Dit jaar gaan we weer!
