Les Moulins le Manoir has its own park garden of about 4ha, with many beautiful trees and many fauna, including wild boars, deer, ragondins (Koypu), kingfishers, cormorants, herons, "house" ducks, many fish in the private lake, etc. It is located directly on the Parc Naturelle de MIllevaches. Many possibilities for (forest) walks and mountain biking directly from home, but also in the entire nature park.
Located in the foothills of the Massif Central between the departments of Corrèze, Creuse and Haute-Vienne, the Millevaches Regional Natural Park in Limousin covers 314,000 hectares and includes seven landscape entities: Vassivière and the surrounding area, the Vienne Valley and its tributaries, the Monédières , the Sources, La Courtine and the plateau of Creusois, the valleys of the Haute-Corrèze and the plateau of Eygurande in Flayat. Wild and unspoilt, it includes several Natura 2000 protected areas, such as the plateau of Millevaches, the moors of Monédières and the bogs of Bonnefond and Péret Bel Air.
This peaceful area is watered by numerous springs and has plenty to enchant nature lovers, with its deciduous forests, green meadows, rivers, lakes, moors and dry moors covered with heather. Millevaches Park in Limousin is the kingdom of hikers, and its highest point is Mount Bessou, at 976 meters altitude, a beautiful place with a panoramic tower where you can enjoy a direct view of the mountains of Auvergne! To admire another equally remarkable view, you must go to the top of the Suc au May in the Monédières, where an orientation table awaits you at 908 meters above sea level.
From easy walks to sporty walks, the park has many routes to discover its natural treasures: the Longeyroux swamp, the Vienne gorges, the Bost circuit, the Augerolles waterfalls, the tower of Mount Gargan... and even a route called On the Granite Trail (Au fil du Granite), a walk of about 3 hours dedicated to the emblematic rock of the plateau of Millevaches. To learn more about this robust material used to build houses, fountains, churches, crosses and washhouses, visit the House of Granite in Bugeat. The permanent exhibition will reveal all its secrets to you!
The water sports, meanwhile, are many and varied thanks to the presence of several lakes in the area. Swimming, canoe-kayak, sailing, fishing and pedal boating are among the leisure activities available at Lake Vassivière in Royère-de-Vassivière, Lake Sainte-Hélène in Bujaleuf or Lake Bariousses in Treignac. When winter comes, head to the Gentioux plateau if you want to enjoy a nice snowshoe hike or cross-country skiing!
The Millevaches Natural Park, with an abundant and varied flora, is also home to many animal species, including some vulnerable species such as the otter, linnet, short-toed short-toed snake eagle, trout, rare butterflies and more. It is also a popular spot with many migratory birds passing by.

Restaurants, food & wine

In the medieval towns of Bourganeuf, Eymoutier, Saint Leonard de Noblat, Peyrat le Chateau there are several nice restaurants. There are also several large supermarkets, the closest at 10 km. A little further around Limoges are many more restaurants.

Activities

The private lake offers opportunities to fish for carp, bow trout, pike and many other species. There is a no-kill regime for carp fishing, so return caught fish to the lake.
You can also go for extensive walks, directly from home, many forest trails. You can also (mountain) bike there.
