The house

Gite Cerise is in the grounds of Chateau L'Orangerie a petit chateau with a hectare of mature gardens, potager and woodland overlooking the surrounding valleys. The grounds include an in-ground guest pool, petanque court, table tennis, badminton and secluded garden seating areas around the château.
The Gite has a lounge room with a small balcony; television and DVD player provide entertainment. There are two bedrooms, one with queen size bed, and ensuite shower and toilet. A room with twin beds has a separate bathroom with bath and toilet. A fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, full size fridge, washing machine, oven and microwave completes the inside. A front verandah has seating and BBQ . Free wi-fi.
A quiet location in the beautiful Thouet Valley, bordering the Vendée, Vienne and the wine region of the Loire Valley. 10 minutes from Saint Loup sur Thouet and 25 minutes from Parthenay.

    Great time. Close to everything we wanted to see and do. Very comfortable with plenty of space. Wonderful hosts. Did not want for anything. The wonderful 5 star dinner at the Chateau for a special occasion was very reasonable and an unforgettable experience. Chef Chris is magic.

    Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien en Barbara en Chris zijn erg gastvrij. We voelden ons buitengewoon welkom. Ondanks slecht weer hebben we een geweldige week gehad.

    Super hosts. Barbara, Chris en Deborah waren erg vriendelijk, behulpzaam en lief voor onze zoon van 1 jaar. Kinderbedje was super geregeld en gite was erg kindvriendelijk.

The Chateau kitchen can provide meals to your Gite or you can eat table d'hote in the Chateau dining room. Al fresco dining spaces are located in the garden. The Chateau is licensed for the sale of wines and beer.
There a restaurant, pizzeria, and 'La Faim de Loup' rotisserie in St Loup plus auberge at Gourgé.

Activities

Beautiful walks are accessible from your front door; from short circular trails to more adventurous 1/2 day treks. A 10 minute drive takes you to the picturesque town of St Loup sur Thouet with pedalos and canoes for hire on the river (summer only) and the XVII Chateau and gardens. Also 10 minutes drive away is the Lac du Cebron a remarkable natural environment with treasure hunts, sailing activities, bird-watching and wonderful walks. The beautiful Jardins du Gué are a short drive or for a wonderful day out, and only an hour away, the Parc Oriental de Maulévrier, the largest Japanese gardens in Europe. Futuroscope is 45 minutes away.
The central location means a multitude of activities and attractions are within an hours drive. It's all here to be discovered.
