The house
Gite ”Syrah” is built in characteristic style of the area here in Dordogne and completely renovated to a comfortable holidayhouse for up to 6 persons. The gite is about 100m2 and has two floors.
Through the double garden doors you enter the holidayhouse in the living room, equipped with a comfortable sofa, relaxing chairs, dining table and a kitchen provided with all the conveniences you need. (Such as coffeemaker, kettle, toaster, full size electric cooker, oven , microwave and dishwasher) Next to the kitchen you’ll find the bathroom with shower, sink and separate toilet. And you have a washing machine at your disposal as well.
Stairs are leading to the first floor where the two bedrooms are located. One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has two single beds. (but these single beds can also be attached as a double bed as well). On the mezzanine there is the 5th full size bed and if needed a bed for the 6xt person can be unfolded.
A spacious garden around the house equipped with comfortable garden furniture gives you the opportunity to pleasantly sit and dine outside.
The gites, the holiday houses, are located on the edge of the village in a domain of green lawns, lots of trees and flowers.
A refreshing splash in the small pool is possible whenever you feel like it.
There are sun beds next to the pool to relax.

The gites, the holiday houses, are located on the edge of the village in a domain of 11.000m2 of green lawns, lots of trees and flowers.
A driveway with big chestnut trees on each side leads to the gites, roses are growing alongside the old garden walls, various trees providing delicious fruits. When they are ready you’re free to take them and taste them. Dining on the terrace outside or on the green lawn, lighting up the barbecue, enjoying a glass of wine and some special French cheeses while watching the sunset….It’s all there to enjoy! The cheerful sound of the birds, or by night, the owls are creating the right “background music”.

Door autopech vertraagd en uiteindelijk dinsdagmiddag bij Gite Syrah aangekomen. Heel leuke gite, schoon en gezellig. Gerralda en Remco zijn top en zeer gastvrij. Wij hebben genoten!
Restaurants, food & wine
Many wineyards and several winehouses are located around us where you can go, taste and buy the wines ”a la proprieté
Weekly there are local markets where you can buy fresh fruits, local delicacies, bread, cheeses, meat, olives etc. The one in the village of Piegut is well known and attracts lots of visitors each wednesday. It is only 15min drive.
Or you can stroll around on the markets with antiquities, pottery and brocante.
This part of the Dordogne, Perigord-limousine, is famous for its beef, foie gras, duck breasts, cheeses, chestnut products and truffles. You’ll find it on the menu of many local restaurants.
Enjoy it together with the local wines , then surely your culinary experience has come to great satisfaction.
Middle age villages and ancient cities invit you for a visit. Old houses, churches, cathedrals and monuments take you back in time. For example Brantome is worth a visit. They call it: Venice of the Dordogne.
Or the old town of Perigueux, a gallo-roman city with a centre of small streets full of local shops,
restaurant and market places in a historical setting. An other city called Sarlat, in the centre of the Perigord-region is definitely worth to see. The whole city is like a monument.
Then there is Bergerac know for its tasty wines and wine related points of interest.
Step into history and visit one of the many caves with splendid creations of stalactites and stalagmites, prehistoric dwellings, rock paintings etc.
For example Grottes de Villars, Grotte de Rouffignac, La Roque St Christophe.
Various castles are also open to the public, built in or upon rock formations, on stunning locations in the landscape and with special designed gardens around.
Activities
The unspoilt nature of Dordogne , Perigord, invites you to go out and explore.
There are many, well marked cycling and mountainbiking routes.
We have five hybride bikes with 21 gears free to use for you.
On many location alongside the rivers you can rent canoes and start paddling.
Lake St Estephe is closeby and gives you lots of watersport-facilities.
Also karting, quadbiking, horse riding , playing golf is possible in the vicinity of the holidayhouses.

Further remarks
We are Remco and Gerralda Gilles and we like to welcome you in our holiday houses in France.
In summer we live on a small estate in Dordogne and you can also enjoy a stay in one of our authentic French Gites on the property.
It is situated in a charming little French village, called Bussiere Badil, which is part of the nature parc Perigord-Limousine and settled in between the green, blooming hills and valleys of the Dordogne.
We have named our holidayhouses, the gites, “gite Syrah” and “gite Merlot” .
These gites are made to offer lots of comfort, freedom and space to enjoy a good holiday and a bit of the French way of life.
Additional price info and offers
In low season periods it is also possible on request and based on availability to reserve the gite per night.
We appreciate simple and clear pricing. So included in these rates are the use of gas, water and electricity.
Also bed linen and towels are included, one set per person, and the final cleaning of the holidayhouse.
On request there is a babybed and babychair available.
