The house
Close to Aubeterre sur Dronne, steeped in history and featuring safe, clean bathing from its beach, canoeing and kayaking. We are so pleased to introduce you to our fabulous gite, already commanding "exceptional 10/10" "superb 5***** " reviews on various booking sites! A BRAND NEW ABOVE GROUND POOL has been installed (Spring 2019) together with a fabulous second terrace.
Newly refurbished, inside and out, our two bedroom gite, both with king size beds, has been tastefully furnished and decorated to a very high standard, catering for your every need, whilst retaining the authenticity of French gite life. High quality linens available and soft furnishings with plenty of storage space too. Gas central heating and a superb wood burning stove warms the gite in cooler months
The living room, combined with dining area has been added and decorated sympathetically, with original stone feature wall, Godin wood burning stove and comfortable, contemporary seating, whilst retaining the charm of the building. In the large, airy living room you will find a flat screen TV with DVD/CD player, many films in both English and French. Wifi is boosted for your modern day technology and it's free!
A huge bathroom with separate shower and large bath contains a good supply of sumptuous, cotton towels, a hair dryer, pair of straighteners, pool towels and complimentary toiletries too so you can get on with the business of relaxation as soon as you arrive!
A very well stocked kitchen has every modern amenity, including dishwasher, microwave, full size fridge freezer, full sized electric oven and hob, A Dolce Gusto coffee machine, loads of coffee, tea, sugar, oils, condiments ... and much more!
A private garden at the rear of the property with its own patio is fully furnished with table and comfortable seating; large parasol, sun loungers, recliners, above ground pool and a charcoal BBQ for evening dining, al fresco.
Free WIFI is available at our property, no cleaning charges and all bed linen and towels are provided free . D

Set in the Dordogne amidst fields and countryside, we are perfectly placed for some of the best France has to offer. 7km from Aubeterre sur Dronne - one of the official Beaux Villages has many activities, such as bathing at the safe river beach, playground, tennis, canoeing, walking and sightseeing. A 12 minute drive will take you to Grand Etang de La Jamaye - our personal lake bathing beach - white sand, restaurant, cafe bars, safe bathing with life guards, free canoeing, body boarding and the most beautiful forest walks. Saint Aulaye, same distance, has some fantastic river bathing, beach bar and pizzeria, climbing ropes and open air swimming pool.
We are about an hour away from the Dordogne Valley where you will find historic Eymet, Sarlat, Beynac, Roque Gageac, Rocamadour and much, much more. St Emilion vineyards can be found 50 minutes south of our Gite and stunning Bordeaux city just over an hour away.
We have several airports close by at Bergerac, Limoges and Brive and just an hour away is the Bordeaux international airport. All of which are served by low cost airlines.
Perigieux is 45 minutes away and Bergerac just an hour - both steeped in history and fascinating to see.
Vineyards at St Emillion and Bergerac are a short drive away.

Fantastische locatie om heerlijk tot rust te komen. Geweldige gastvrijheid van Nelson en Lewis. De omgeving is schitterend om uitstapjes te doen. Gezellige markt in Riberac, natuurlijk een bezoek aan St. Emillion, etc. etc. Kortom we hebben genoten.

Restaurants, food & wine
Saint Antoine Cumond a short walk away (2km) has a boulangerie, restaurant and bar, serving delicious authentic food and drinks, whilst the market towns of Riberac and Chalais (10 minutes and 20 minutes away respectively) have several restaurants. Wine of the region is wonderful and sensibly priced, as are vineyard tours and tastings. St Severin has an excellent choice of restaurants as does Aubeterre sur Dronne.
We can organise wine tasting in nearby St Emilion during your stay with us, please ask.
Activities
Bicycle hire is available widely. We have contacts for bicycle rental who will rent bicycles for your stay as well as plan routes for your enjoyment.
The gite is situated in rolling countryside where you will find several routes for both walking or hiking through fields, along rivers or around lakes.
Fishing is available within 40km.
Swimming is availabe in Aubeterre sur Dronne, Saint Aulaye, Le Grand Etang de la Jamaye.

Further remarks
Our holiday home gite will certainly provide you with the perfect base from which to explore SW France. We have tried to provide you with every luxury to make your stay relaxing as well as memorable. We believe we offer excellent value for money. Our French is improving, though basic, but we still welcome the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Our reviews are outstanding, as can be verified through several sources.
