The house
The bright and spacious accomodation comprises of an open plan living/dining area with stone fireplace, this opens out onto a front terrace with views of the valley. From the large rear fitted kitchen is a beautiful stone terrace with BBQ overlooking a fully enclosed garden. There are 2 bedrooms, one has ensuite shower facilites and a large double bed (160x200). There is an additional shower room and separate toilet.

La Gardelle is approached by wrought iron gates with sweeping gravel driveway beyond. Situated in the magnificient 'Perigord Noir' of the Dordogne, La Gardelle is only 3km from the centre of the market town of Le Bugue. A perfect base to explore the beautiful hilly landscapes of this region. With numerous chateaux, vineyards, churches to see, the area is surrounded in history.

Een heerlijk huis met een fantastische tuin, prachtig gelegen aan een rustig weggetje. Onze beide honden hebben zich prima vermaakt in de 3500 m2 grote tuin, waarin ze al hun energie kwijt konden en tijdens wandelingen vanuit huis en elders. Bij hoge temperaturen kun je achter het huis lekker in de schaduw zitten en 's avonds verhuis je dan naar het terras aan de voorkant, met zicht op de bergen aan de andere kant van de Vézère. Erg fijn is dat je op een heel rustige plek vertoeft, maar dat je zodra je de paar kilometer naar het centrum van le Bugue hebt afgelegd, meteen midden in een bruisend toeristisch dorp zit met op dinsdag een grote regionale markt. En alle juweeltjes van de Périgord Noir liggen op slechts een steenworp afstand. De eigenaren van La Gardelle, David en Jacqueline, zijn supergastvrije toppers. Als je van dieren houdt, moet je beslist eens naar hun hond informeren; met een verhaal daarover veroverden ze meteen voor eeuwig ons hart. Het was voor ons de eerste keer dat we hier verbleven, maar zeker niet de laatste keer.

We hebben genoten van dit huis en deze plaats. Veel te doen in de omgeving. Huis is mooi en volledig ingericht.

Wij waren hier met 4 volwassenen en een hond. Het is een prima huis en een mooie grote tuin met voldoende bomen om in de schaduw te zitten. Wij hadden warm weer. In de omgeving is genoeg te doen. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. De vriendelijke eigenaren van het huis kwamen ons welkom heten.
Restaurants, food & wine
The locals are very proud of their produce here and rightly so, put it on show across the region so its hard not to try them. The famous Fois-gras, magret de canard, truffles, walnut oil and cepes (wild mushrooms). The nocturnal markets give you the perfect opportunity to sample these products

Further remarks
The gite is available from 2pm on Saturday and we ask that the guests vacate the property by 10am on the day of departure. The warranty deposit is £100. Towels and bed linen are included.
