The house
The holiday home was originally a shepherd's house, built in 1750. On the ground floor there is a living room, a cosy, well-equipped kitchen with a fireplace/wood-burning stove, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Upstairs are two bedrooms. All beds, mattresses and duvets are of excellent quality.
In the garden there is also a guest house (bedroom + bathroom/toilet) for two people.
You rent the whole, so house, guest house and swimming pool are completely at your disposal and are not used by others.
The house was completely modernised in 2014 - with retention of the characteristic elements.

The garden, which is partly enclosed by old walls, covers an area of about 3500 m2 and has several spots where you can enjoy yourself. The presence of a number of long ancient hedges - once built to keep the sheep together - makes the garden very special. A wonderful place for sports & games (hide and seek is even a pleasure for the elderly), but also a wonderful place to laze or barbecue.
Through a number of beautiful trees (including an old lime tree and a walnut tree) you can enjoy the sun in the shade. And everywhere you will enjoy the view.
In the garden is a large swimming pool of 6 by 12 metres. At its deepest point it is 2.4 metres, but it also has a wide strip of about 90 cm deep, with a 'Roman entrance'. The pool has an overflow in the direction of the valley, which makes it seem as if you are swimming into the clouds (or rather the blue sky). In short, it is a delight for young and old.
Around the pool there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the lovely weather, both in the sun and in the shade of a tree. From the terrace in front of the house, you can see the swimming pool without being disturbed. Various garden furniture, a tennis table and a barbecue are available.
The house - including a guest house - is suitable for up to 6 people and is entirely at your disposal.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the months of July and August you will find food markets (Marche Nocturne's) in the Dordogne, where you can sit down and eat and drink delicious local dishes. There are also many good restaurants in the vicinity and at about 45 minutes drive you are in the wine region of Bergerac.
Activities
In the Dordogne you can canoe (both on the Dordogne and the Vezere), there are caves to visit, castles, and many beautiful rustic villages.
Tuesday morning there is a large market in Le Bugue and Saturday morning a smaller, partly organic market.
Golf course La Marterie is 15 minutes away.
But above all enjoy the lovely garden with beautiful views and large swimming pool.

Further remarks
The holiday home is situated entirely detached, 2.5 km from Le Bugue. Le Bugue is a nice small provincial town, with large shops (Intermarche etc.) and a large weekly market on Tuesdays.
