Le Manoir des Granges

Le Manoir des Granges is a 19th century stone house situated in the Vezere Valley, the heart of the Périgord Noir region of the Dordogne. The house accommodates up to twelve guests in six bedrooms and is set in its own grounds with private gardens and private pool. The accommodation is on three floors and has been restored to a high standard, retaining many of its characteristic features. The private 12 x 5 metre swimming pool is fenced for safety and has a thermal cover and sunbeds for 12 people. A table tennis table is located in the orchard for the use of all our guests - plenty of competitions have been won and lost here! The property is surrounded by mature, private, spacious gardens, with an orchard of apple, peach, cherry, pear and walnut trees.
Inside the house, the entrance hall connects to the farmhouse style kitchen/dining room, with a large dining table and seating for twelve. The kitchen area has many modern features, including a double oven electric range cooker with gas hob, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher and with granite work surfaces throughout.
There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer. A rotary dryer is in the garden.
On the other side of the hallway is the living room, armchairs and sofas surround a stone fireplace, where guests can light log fires on cool evenings, supplemented by the oil-fired central heating or take respite from the hot, sunny, summer days. A hi-fi system, TV with satellite English and French freeview channels, a Blueray DVD player and an extensive library of books.
The interior of the house generally stays cool, even during the hottest summer days, if the windows and doors are kept closed. The shutters will help to reduce the amount of heat entering the house as does the new double glazing.

There are six bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom. Five have a bath and shower, one has a shower suite. The two bedrooms on the top floor have mobile air conditioning units. All other bedrooms have shutters and fans, either ceiling fan or fan on a stand.
