The house
Les Charmes de Carlucet-Cottage is a beautiful stone, country cottage with a large jacuzzi/spa for up to 6 people.
It has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms all with private bathrooms, large private terrace and gardens with stunning views over the valley to the 11th Century church and hamlet of Carlucet.
It is set in the extensive grounds of the estate of Les Charmes de Carlucet and is surrounded by beautiful Dordogne countryside with far reaching views.
Although it is in a beautiful peaceful setting, it is also just outside the pretty village of Salignac with all the amenities you need and 15 mins from the stunning medieval town of Sarlat la Canéda and the Dordogne river valley.
The cottage has been recently renovated & restored to the highest levels of comfort with quality with tasteful & stylish furnishings throughout.
We have invested in Free super high speed Wifi, air conditioning in all rooms, large smart TV's with Netflix, UK and French TV channels and a pellet burning stove.
There are 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor which have king size beds & there is 1 bedroom on the ground floor which has a double bed. All 3 bedrooms are furnished with extra comfort mattresses & pillows & have high quality bed linen & towels to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. They all have air conditioning and private bathrooms.
All the bathrooms in this beautiful home country home are well equipped with showers, toilets, toiletries, sink, & one bathroom has a bath as well as a shower. The bathroom for the bedroom of the ground floor has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The fully equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, Electric oven & hob, allows you to discover & sample the delights of Périgordine Cuisine with your friends and family.
The kitchen/living/dining space is light and airy and open plan with beautiful exposed stone walls, comfortable seating for up to 6 people in both the living and dining area. The heating is provided by a pellet burning stove or through the air conditioning units which also provide heat. The dining area opens out directly onto the large private southwest facing terrace with stunning views of the surrounding countryside..

The cottage is located in the grounds of the extensive estate of Les Charmes de Carlucet and it is completely private with its own private large terrace and garden, and spa/jacuzzi for up to 5 people. The terrace has the most beautiful views over the valley, the ancient hamlet of Carlucet and the surrounding countryside.
It is located 2 km from the pretty village of Salignac-Eyvigues which has a lively market square, grocery shops and good restaurants.
The magnificent Dordogne valley is also within very easy reach. You will find peace, tranquility and comfort as you enjoy a break in one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of France. But it is also close to the very best of everything in this beautiful, interesting and historic region.
In the heart of the Dordogne Golden Triangle, Perigord Noir, between the stunning Medieval town of Sarlat la Caneda and the world famous caves of Lascaux at Montignac.
The nearest local restaurant is the extremely popular The Black Duck pub/restaurant which is just a 5 minute walk away. It is greatly enjoyed and appreciated by our guests.

Just 400 meters from The cottage is the charming Irish/French Pub/Restaurant The Black Duck, serving lunch & dinner as well as cool Guinness on tap! It serves simple tasty regional dishes at reasonable prices. They also serve fish and chips! There are 2 terraces for outdoor dining with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Lively friendly atmosphere.The area of Périgord Noir is famous for its gastronomy due to the wonderful abundance of delicious local delicacies which include Truffles, Walnuts and Foie Gras.
We are fortunate to have many wonderful local restaurants close to The cottage.
In nearby village of Salignac, 5 mins by car is this delightful bistro/café Cafe de la Place, on the village square in Salignac. It offers simple, well presented, reasonably priced tasty meals. It’s a lively friendly place. Especially on Friday evenings during the summer months when the village night market with live music is in full swing.
Just 10 minutes drive from Les Charmes de Carlucet takes you to the family run Auberge d'Imbes, surrounded by peaceful countryside.
There is a lovely outdoor terrace. They serve their own homemade foie gras and other regional dishes. Very friendly service and good value for money.
Le Petit Leon restaurant is in the heart of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, a charming village about 25 mins drive from Les Charmes de Carlucet and The cottage.
The food here is absolutely fantastic! The restaurant combines refined classic cuisine and modern techniques, focusing on the local produce we have at hand.
Chef and owner Nick Honeyman from New Zealand has previously worked extensively throughout France at such restaurants as L’Astrance and L’Arpege. He also has his own restaurant, Paris Butter, in Auckland, New Zealand. Nick is bringing his passion for classic french food & innovative cooking together, sourcing everything locally where possible.Book well ahead as this place is very popular.

Les Charmes de Carlucet-Cottage, on the extensive private estate of Les Charmes de Carlucet, is located in the heart of the "Golden Triangle" of the Dordogne, Perigord Noir in South West France. Between the stunning medieval town of Sarlat la Canéda and the world famous caves of Lascaux at Montignac. The area is famous for the beautiful Dordogne river and all the activities that take place there including canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming and fishing. It is also famous for the most beautiful and historic villages in France which include La Roque Gageac, Domme, Beynac, and Castelnaud la Chapelle. Also it is famous for the majestic Chateaux along the banks of the Dordogne such as Beynac, Castelnaud, and the magnificent former home of Josephine Baker, Chateau Milandes. There are 147 UNESCO World Heritage sites of prehistoric importance along the Vezere valley which is also close by and waiting for you to discover them.
From our doorstep, there are many glorious walking & cycling trails as Les Charmes de Carlucet-Cottage is surrounding by beautiful, peaceful Countryside filled with amazing wildlife, rare & beautiful wild flowers.
Just a 10 minute drive from Beaux Reves is the stunning Jardins de Eyrignac, voted the most beautiful gardens in Perigord Noir. Also the magnificent Jardins of Marqueyssac are just a short drive away.
There are a number of 18 hole golf courses within a short drive.

We are a British/Swedish couple.
We have lived in France since 2012. After 4 years living and working in Paris, we moved to Dordogne and bought Les Charmes de Carlucet.
After many years of working in the corporate world, we decided to follow a lifetime dream, to run a Holiday business in a beautiful part of the world.
We have lived and worked in many Countries in the world following our careers and enjoyed travelling extensively. We know what we like from staying in beautiful places. Our goal as to bring the same high standards that we appreciate to Les Charmes as we continue our adventure in this incredibly beautiful corner of the world.
We live in the manor house next door to the cottage. We are very happy to make any recommendations and reservations for you if you wish.
There are 2 private cottages on the estate of Les charmes de Carlucet. Both are completely private from each other, but they can be rented together for larger groups of up to 12 people.
Additional price info and offers
Complimentary toiletries included. All bathrooms have a hair dryer. All Bedrooms have air conditioning. During winter months pellets are provided for the pellet burner. Tourist tax included in the price.
A welcome pack os provided including local wine, cheeses, and snacks.
Check in is from 4pm on the day of arrival.
