When you see our holiday home (gîte) "Pomerol" you'll fall in love with it just like we did.
We didn't name this lovely self-catering holiday home after a famous wine region by accident. Château Coulon Laurensac used to be a wine-producing property. This beautiful 200 year old building used to be the château's cellar master's lodging. Now it has everything you need to enjoy a "grand-cru" holiday.
Pomerol (4 persons, 80 m2) [861 square feet]
This stylish intimate cottage is finished to a high standard with lots of home from home comforts. Pomerol has all the right ingredients for a perfect holiday. There are two sofas grouped around the former fireplace in the tastefully decorated living room with beautiful exposed beams and honey-colored limestone walls.
Furnishing and equipment
Pomerol has recently been renovated and redecorated to welcome you with all the modern comfort. In the living room there is a selection of English and French books. Complementary wifi Internet access and a TV (flatscreen, 32 inch) with DVD player are all at your disposal to make for a comfortable stay. If we are at home, you can come and borrow as many DVDs as you like. In addition to the French television there is a wide selection of satellite channels. Among them many British and American channels like BBC, Sky news, CNN, etc. A stereo set with iPod or iPhone docking station with CD player and radio complete the technical equipment of your accommodation.
Well situated, the house offers a high degree of privacy. Pomerol overlooks the park and has its own garden (almost half the size of a football field) and boasts a lovely seating area with garden furniture and a sunshade.
Kitchen
The kitchen area is spacious and has a modern, fitted and well-equipped kitchen/dining room (table, 4 chairs) with cooker, dishwasher, etc. As well as bowls and pans, there is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, iron and a vacuum cleaner, in short, everything you need for a comfortable stay.
There is a central laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble-dryer you can use at no extra charge.
Bedding and bathroom
There are two spacious bedrooms upstairs. One has a double bed (Box-spring: 1.60x2.00 m) [5.5 feet by 6.6 feet], the other two (large) single beds [2.9 feet by 6.6 feet]. On the same floor there is a sizeable luxury bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, two washbasins and a WC (see picture).
When you arrive at the Château, the beds are already made. All beds are provided with duvets. Bed linen and towels are included. (Please bring your own beach or pool towels).
The gite is non-smoking, and sorry, no pets are allowed.
Swimming pool
You can enjoy moments of leisure or take a dip in our large heated swimming pool (6 by 12m), [807 square feet]. The pool, which has two roman steps, is stunningly set at the south side of the château. The pool is heated from early May until the end of October.

1 week in deze mooie Gites is eigenlijk te weinig. Schitterend gelegen nabij Bordeaux.. Een aanrader voor wie in deze omgeving vakantie wil houden. Bordeaux en omstreken zijn het bezoek meer dan waard. Met mooi weer is het heerlijk afkoelen in het zwembad.

Fijne plek vlak bij de stad Bordeaux. Het dorpje heet Latresne en heeft alle voorzieningen in de vorm van kleine winkels en bakkerijen. Op 500 m. een supermarkt voor degenen die zelf willen koken. Aanrader is echter gebruik te maken van de "plat du jour" in de stad en overige dorpen. Voor weinig geld (9-13 euro) goed eten. Gite Margaux is groot en comfortabel ingericht. Het terras heeft uitzicht op de mooie en enorme tuin. Daar zitten met een glas wijn, geeft een "rijk" gevoel. Gastvrouw en gastheer Margaret en Ronald zijn heel gastvrij en betrokken. De privacy is groot. Daarnaast hebben wij genoten van het grote (verwarmde) zwembad met fijne ligstoelen. Dit ligt naast het chateau op een afgesloten terrein. In de gites hoor of zie je er niets van. In de omgeving zijn mooie autotochten te maken en je kunt veel wijnchateaux bezoeken. Kortom een aanrader in vele opzichten.

Heerlijk plekje vlak bij Bordeaux. In een kwartiertje zit je in het centrum. Rustige Gite vlak naast het prachtige Chateau. Welkom was erg goed geregeld en heerlijk aan het zwembad gelegen. Klein stukje rijden naar enorme supermarkt geeft de mogelijkheid om te koken in je eigen keukentje. Goede ervaring en absoluut een aanrader. Enige jammere was dat i.v.m. veel Franse vakanties in augustus de bakkertjes om de hoek allemaal gesloten waren.
