The house
Lounge/Diner/Kitchen ~ this lovely open space has a large sofa and chair, dining table and chairs; kitchen area is fully equipped and there are stunning views of the lake and the river from the three windows in this area. The bedroom, with lake view has a double bed and storage. The bathroom, with a stunning view of the river, has a shower, toilet and vanity unit. Outside there is parking space for your car and the essential BBQ, table and chairs.

We are in the 87, Haute Vienne area of the Limousin. The area is famous for it's forests and beautiful countryside and, of course it's lakes. There are two famous lakes in the area, about 20 minutes away is Lac St. Pardoux which is a popular holiday destination with all the usual water sports available and a superb swimming pool complex. Further afield, on the Haute Vienne/Creuse border, is the immense 1000 hectare Lac de Vassiviere, again worth a trip for water sport and nature enthusiasts and also the dining cruises. About 5 minutes from our gites is the river Gartempe, a favourite with locals and visitors alike for fishing and canoeing, you will enjoy walking along it's banks, also our own river Couze, to see the wonderful wildlife, there are wild boar and deer, the trees abound with birds both large and small.

Het huisje ligt in een prachtige omgeving, aan een riviertje en aan het meertje van de eigenaar. Daar mochten wij en de hond ook in zwemmen. Het huisje was super-schoon en de ontvangst was hartelijk

Fantastische locatie, water romdom de gite, idyllisch gelegen tussen het groen wat echt een verademing was met het warme weer. (Er is ook een zwembad aanwezig) Gastvrouw is Brits en bijzonder vriendelijk. Prachtige dorpjes (Bellac) in de directe omgeving om te ontdekken. Omgeving is groen, rustig, landelijk en volledig onontdekt door de toeristen. Tips: de pizzeria in Chateauponsac (ook prachtig!) is een aanrader. Helaas niet vaak open en erg klein dus reserveer of haal op. Uraniummuseum in Besinnes; verrassend! Moet: futuroscope in Poitiers!

Activities
There is an 'above-ground' pool with a large decked area. If you enjoy fishing, that is available on our lake or we can arrange a permit for all the local rivers and public lakes. There are lots of walking and cycling trails right near the gite or at local lakes; Lac Sagnat (15 mins) or Lac de St Pardoux (20 mins), we can help with cycle hire. If horse riding is your thing, this is available not too far from the gite. Water sports, zip wire and huge pool complex are available for you at Lac de St Pardoux, a great day out!
