The house
Open the traditional latch front door and you enter a large living room / kitchen with comfy sofas & an open fire place.
The country style handmade kitchen has granite work surfaces, Belfast sink with range cooker, Smeg fridge and all the crockery and glasses you will need for your stay.
A large French table is in the middle of the kitchen so you can chat while dinner is being made.
Downstairs there is a large double bedroom with French doors overlooking the garden with a large en suite wet room with travertine flooring and plenty of space for wheelchair access.
To the front of the house there is a stylish snug room where you chill out with a glass of wine and read.
The cottage has two staircases leading to four bedrooms, all en suite.
Each room is furnished classic French items that we have collected over the years and matched with stylish cushions, handmade rugs and paintings by local artists.
All floors are stripped wooden floors, the doors and staircases are dark petrol blue complementing the white walls and exposed beams to create a clean modern feel with a twist.
Each en suite has a large shower, clean white classic tiles with white fluffy towels and toiletries provided.

The village is a no through road - so the only traffic is your neighbours or the local farmer who passes occasionally with his tractor.
Ample parking is available next to the house.
Vehicles are necessary as we are in the countryside but we are perfectly situated only 5 minutes away from RN145 which takes you to Bellac (our main local town).
Limoges is 45 minutes away & Poitiers about 1 hour.
The A20 is accessible via RN145.
There are plenty of local walks from the village either by the road, the old train track or chemins (pathways)
We even have our own village pathway, created by our neighbours so we can all walk down to the local river.

We stayed in Maison de Charzat at the end of August. It was absolutely fantastic! Great place to unwind and relax with a lovely walk down to the nearby river. The local villages are really pretty and quaint. There were 6 of us in the house and we had plenty of space. The pool is fabulous and much needed for a cool down in the sunshine. Alan and Deborah were excellent hosts and provided lots of ideas for things to do locally. Can highly recommend!
Restaurants, food & wine
We are conveniently located to all the main roads so you can easily discover this beautiful region.
Bellac is only 5 minutes away which has a selection of supermarkets, shops & restaurants plus a beautiful river.
Le Dorat is an ancient small walled city with a huge cathedral. A great place to have a wonder around.
This is about 10 minutes away. Again this has a good selection of individual shops, bars & restaurants.
Limoges is our main closest city which is a 45 minutes drive. It offers plenty to see & do.
Activities
We are situated in the middle of the beautiful Limousin countryside.
There are plenty of local walks through the chemins ( pathways).
Lac de St Paradoux is a huge lake which has it's own beaches, boats, wake board facility, tree / rope climbing adventure park, cycle paths etc. This is only 30 minutes away.
