Welcome in Gite le Marron, a apartement with a modern look and feel in the acient watermill, Le moulin de la Barbarie.
Center of the appartement is a spacious livingroom with connected diner and kitchen. The bathroom has a double sink and shower, the toilet is seperate. The appartement has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two seperate beds.
The master bedroom has a vieuw over the island and river Tardoire.
In front of the apartement is a terras with all required furniture. Feel free to room the 20 acres of our terrain and enjoy the space, nature, water and tranquility

This part of the Haute Vienne is full of green rolling hills with water all around in the form of small lakes, streams and rivers. About 60% consists of agricultural land the rest is mixed woodland. Herds of the famous Limousin cows can be found everywhere.
The mill " le moulin the la Barbarie" is situated in the national parc "Perigord-Limousin". This parc is a series of woods, rivers, lakes small towns and villages. Gite le Marron is created in one of the former buildings of the ancient mill.

Hebben het wederom heerlijk gehad in deze gite. Alles was weer tot in de puntjes geregeld. Zijn hier een aantal keren tot volle tevredenheid geweest. Jammer dat we de eigenaar nog steeds niet hebben ontmoet. Gaat ook niet meer gebeuren. De gite is zeker een aanrader.

Wederom gekozen voor deze gite. Was weer geweldig, echt thuiskomen. Het huis was al in prima staat maar er zijn wat aanpassingen gedaan. Is er nog beter op feworden. Het is hier heerlijk vertieven. Het echte vakantiegevoel. De “tuin” is een paradijs als je van dieren houdt. Zeer veel eigen terrein net veel vogeltjes. Lana, we hebben het weer heel fijn gehad en je ziet ons weer terug. Hopelijk is je man dan niet varen 😅, kunnen we eens kennismaken. De week na jou huis was een disaste, te skecht voor woorden. Jij hebt je zaakjes goed op orde en het is fantastisch verblijven. Tot de volgende keer!

There are several pubs and restaurants in the area. During the summerseasion several farmers markets and fairs offer the option of enyoing the local products and foods.

If you like a sportive holliday you have varioes options in the region:
Several marked walking routes, biking and mountainbiking routes are set through the region.
Geo-catching routes are present.
From the closeby town Oradour sur Vayres an old railwaytrack brings you to Chalus. This route has been asphalted and is a great way to ride your bike, skeeler or walk along. On the route is a old station than houses a restaurant with terras to enjoy a well deserved rest.
Fishing.
There are ample fishing opportunities in the Haute Vienne. If you apply for the fishing permit you can fish in several lakes and rivers. Also you can try to catch the rainbow trouts from the river Tardoire on our terrain.
Swimming.
There is a small swimpool on the island. Also the river is great for kids to play in and refresh on a hot day. Please be aware that there is a lot of shallow water on our terrain. Small children have to be guarded by their parents if they want to play in the river. Several guarded swimlakes are available trougout the region.

Further remarks
If interested we would like to show you the former mill. Up to recent the mill produced electricity for our own use, the mill provided electricity for a clothing factury in the past.
Internet is available but only on a limited scale. We offer you free WiFi but the connection is shared with al habitants and will not be verry fast. Your mobile phone will likely have a limited signal strength.

Included in the price is one time use of the general laundry machine.
We asume that you leave the Gite the same way as you found it, clean and tidy. Dirty bedsheets should be posted in the laundry basket.
The final cleaning costs are obligatory and costs €60,00
We are not asking for a downpayment.
