La Tourre in Massoules, Region Lot et Garonne
La Tourre, Quercy-style house of character about 250 years old, with walls 50cm thick and a capacity of 650m3.
Land area 2 hectares.
The house is situated in an oasis of green with a south-facing terrace overlooking the valley.
Surrounding the house is the attractive garden with a lawn, fruit trees, vines, lavender and roses.
We also invite you to take a walk through our (laafen) forest.

Bedroom 1 - The master bedroom adjoins a private bathroom with bath, shower, double sink and bidet. From the bedroom and bathroom you have views over the valley.

- The laundry room with private access has a boiler, central heating, washing machine and large fridge-freezer.

We recommend that you keep the shutters closed in (extreme) heat. This makes staying in the house more pleasant.

The region with its pleasant climate, gentle valleys and panoramic views is called the Tuscany of France by the locals.

La Tourre is completely private at the end of the access road. The house stands on the edge of a plateau, with an 800 year old 'Donjon' (defence tower) on it and with a view over the valley.
The 'Donjon' gave the place its name La Tourre.
Behind the swimming pool lies the forest.
Ground surface is 2 ha. Feel free to walk around the grounds.

Afgelopen week hebben we hier vakantie gevierd met 2 gezinnen, 4 kinderen en 4 volwassenen. Wat een prachtige plek! Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, een goed geoutilleerde keuken, mooie zitkamer en fijne bedden. En dan ook nog een buitenkeuken, wat een luxe! De tuin rondom het huis is gigantisch met overal prachtige zitjes. In de avond sterren kijken is een aanrader. Tot slot het fantastische zwembad; hier hebben we heel wat uur in doorgebracht.
Het huis is wel afgelegen, dus voor boodschappen en uitstapjes ben je aangewezen op de auto. In de buurt is een leuk meer met aquapark. Ook zijn de Marches Gourmande een aanrader. Genieten van allerlei streekproducten met live-muziek op de achtergrond Wel even zelf bestek en glazen meenemen.

Heerlijk huis voor mensen die lekker weg van de drukte het echte Franse leven ophet platteland willen opsnuiven. We hebben twee weken prachtig weer gehad. De sterrenhemel 's avonds was supermooi ook. We hadden een vogelnestje met drie jonkies in de buitenkeuken die tijdens ons verblijf gevoerd werden door de ouders en in de tweede week het nest gingen verlaten. Soort Big Broeder maar dan live!
Wij hebben voornamelijk buiten geleefd: in de riante buitenkeuken, in de geheime zit & leesplekjes in de schaduw her en der in de tuin en heel veel in het zwembad baantjes getrokken, gedobberd op een luchtbed of zittend op de trap met een koud pilsje or roseetje in de hand. Je hebt wel echt de auto nodig voor boodschappen doen dus haal elke keer voor een paar dagen en maak gebruik van de extra koelkast en vriezer in de bijkeuken.
De omgeving kenden we nog niet zo goed maar we vonden het heel mooi in dit deel van Frankrijk. Niet toeristisch maar toch genoeg te zien en te doen. Een volgende keer zouden we nog meer van de uitgezette wandelingen in de omgeving willen doen of e-bikes meenemen/huren. Fijn om te horen dat jullie genoten hebben van het huis zwembad , en de buitenkeuken is altijd bij iedereen een favoriete plek. :).
En de mooie omgeving en de restaurants niet te vergeten waar je heerlijk kunt eten.
Voor ons na ruim 20 jaar nog steeds een Top plek.

Genoten!! Een heerlijk huis op een prachtige locatie! Een huis, zoals een huis in Frankrijk hoort te zijn. Dikke stenen muren met blauwe luiken omringd door een enorme tuin met uitzicht over een vallei. In de tuin een groot zwembad, buitenkeuken en overal de mogelijkheid te gaan zitten om samen te eten of juist even op een rustig plekje te relaxen. Ping pong tafel met batjes, verschillende gezelschapsspellen, sfeerverlichting, keukengerei (op niets mis gepakt), grote koel/vries combinatie (erg fijn met meer dan 35 graden), fijne bedden, eigenlijk alles wat je vakantie compleet maakt is aanwezig. We hebben geweldige fietstochten gemaakt in de omgeving. Mooie dorpjes en afwisselend landschap zijn via rustige weggetjes te bereiken.

Restaurants, food & wine
In several medieval towns in the vicinity, lively evenings are organised in the summer. Sitting at long tables, you can enjoy the delicious local specialities and drinks.
Favourite is Dausse at 10 minutes by car, every Tuesday in July and August from 19:00 to 23:00, with an average of 300 people eating together at the traditional long tables under the trees on the church square with live music!!!!!
In summer, every Friday there is a tasting of local products at the Musée de Foie-gras.
After the tour, you can enjoy snacks and drinks at long tables under the trees until evening!
Cahors wines can be found in the region. There are also many wine chateaux open to the public.
Farmers in the area make some wine for their own consumption.
On several markets, they present this wine without "added" flavourings and colourings at reasonable prices.
In Auradou you will find the winery Les Oliviers. The owner and his wife receive you kindly and in a very relaxed atmosphere you can taste everything.
Dining from 12:00 to 14:00 with mainly "French people" at reasonable prices and wine á volenté is an experience you don't want to miss.

Activities
Visiting the weekend and brocante markets is a real pleasure. Especially in July and August, there are many festivals.
Music performances, especially jazz, are very popular. Markets can be found in Montaiqu de Quercy (Sat.) and Roquecor (Sun.). Montcuq has a large Sunday market with nice terraces where many 'nationalities' come together.

Booking La Tourre
Ask for as much information as you need.
After booking you will receive a confirmation which you will then complete and make a down payment of 20% of the rent within 2 weeks. We will confirm your reservation after receipt of the deposit.
You will receive the general rental conditions as standard after the down payment.
The remainder of the rent + deposit must be paid 8 weeks before arrival.
Upon receipt of the balance, you will receive a route description, information on the accommodation/access, contact address for the manager, etc.
The deposit will be refunded after deduction of the obligatory cleaning costs within 14 days after your stay.
In early and late season, we charge for the use of the central heating. In terms of temperature, this occurs occasionally.
If you book within 8 weeks of arrival, we will immediately charge the entire rent and deposit.
