Le Menuisier de Boulède
The authentic and comfortable quality house Le Menuisier (8 adults + 1 baby) is a former regional farmhouse located in the charming private hamlet "Le Mayne de Boulède". This former farmhouse consisting of living quarters, hay barn and stables has been renovated from top to toe in a very stylish way, preserving the original character of the houses in this region. Together with the house "Le Forgeron de Boulède", it forms a very large semi-detached house where everyone has complete privacy.
Le Menuisier consists of two floors:
Ground floor: kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom (toilet, 2 washbasins, shower), 2nd toilet, 1st bedroom
Spacious modern kitchen leading through an open connection to a large living/dining room with seating around the original fireplace. The dining area with large dining table is 20 cm higher than the sitting area in the living room. A small step down from the living/dining room leads to the 1st bedroom, a separate toilet and the 1st bathroom with shower, 2 washbasins and an extra toilet.
Two stairs in the dining area of the living room lead to the three other bedrooms on the first floor (see description immediately below).
First floor: 2nd, 3rd and 4th bedrooms, 2nd bathroom (shower, washbasin)
The first staircase leads to the 2nd bedroom (two single beds: 0.90 x 2.00) located above the living room. Staircase two leads to a spacious mezzanine (25 m2. Lovely play area for children and/or storage space), and then to the 3rd bedroom (2 single beds: 0.90 x 2.00) and the 4th bedroom (one double bed: 1.80 x 2.00) as well as the 2nd bathroom (shower, washbasin) on the first floor.
Outside
Directly adjacent to the kitchen is a beautiful, spacious veranda with a large wooden outdoor table offering shade in summer and a dry place to sit outside if it should ever rain. You overlook the 30 x 15 m deep private garden and the part of the property where the swimming pool is located (1 ha). From the kitchen to the left, at the head of the house (south), there is a second terrace with comfortable lounge chairs and parasol.

The entire grounds of 2.5 hectares are accessible to our guests. In this outdoor area there are 2 swimming pools (11m x 5m, depth: 1.10 - 2.00m) with comfortable seating and loungers, parasols and shaded areas. You can dream away in a hammock in a shady spot next to the pool among some trees.
There is also a play area for children (swing, large trampoline, sandpit).

You are on holiday in the Lot-et-Garonne, close to the Dordogne and its river of the same name. Lot-et-Garonne is the region of bastides (medieval fortified towns), such as Monflanquin, Villeréal and Monpazier. You are also 40 minutes from the wine town of Bergerac and an hour from Cahors.

Le Menuisier (the carpenter) is located on the small-scale holiday park of Rolf & Karen Kommer in the private hamlet of Boulède. The estate is situated on a hill with beautiful views over the rolling countryside and the nearby medieval fortified town of Monflanquin. Boulède is more than two hundred years old and a former "village d'artisans rural": a craftsmen's village (in the local vernacular of here a Mayné) where in those days a blacksmith (forgeron), a carpenter (menuisier), a wine grower (vigneron) and a tonnelier, among others, settled.
You will find yourself in a first-class "Maison de Charme". The owners Rolf and Karen Kommer - de Graaff, who themselves live there all year round, transform this village into a picturesque and small-scale holiday park for lovers of peace, space and "joie de vivre". They renovate each of the eight houses and provide them with modern comfort while retaining all the original details of these beautiful regional houses.
Le Mayne de Boulède is located 2 km west of the beautiful medieval fortified village (a so-called "Bastide") of Monflanquin where you will find, among other things, several bakeries, a supermarket, a Tourism Info and several nice restaurants around the restored intimate medieval market square.

We zijn in volle voorbereiding om te verblijven in dit prachtige domein... ik kon het niet laten om al een recensie te schrijven over de gastvrouw. Ze is namelijk super hartelijk, antwoord heel snel op al je vragen, heeft voor alles een pasklare oplossing... de ‘pakstress’ smelt weg voor de zon. Wij zien het alvast helemaal zitten!

Wij hebben met vier volwassenen en vier kleine kinderen mogen verblijven in het prachtige huis le Tonnelier. Ruim, schoon en meer dan compleet!
Het mini gehuchtje waar dit huis deel van uitmaakt is een prachtig plekje in Frankrijk. En het wordt nog mooier als je de geschiedenis leest. Rolf, Karen en hun meiden doen er alles aan om er een klein paradijsje van te maken waar het de gasten aan niets ontbreekt. En ze mogen trots zijn op het resultaat tot nu toe!

Als je dan s avonds na n gezellige avond onder de Franse zon naar huis rijdt en zo'n hartverwarmend bericht ontdekt in je Inbox ... Ca fait plaisir! Twee sympathieke gezinnen die samen super ontspannen vakantievierden zo zag het eruit bij jullie. Jullie laten je niet gekmaken (zelfs niet door Niels ;) ... En voor ons als eigenaren/gastheer en vrouw ook niet onbelangrijk dat je zag dat het huis jullie "thuis" was (al is het maar voor even ;) waar goed voor gezorgd werd. Jullie dank dus voor het gastzijn en voor de goede zorgen voor het huis. We zien jullie graag weer terug!

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad met onze 4 jonge kinderen. Karen, Rolf & dochters hebben een prachtig complex gerealiseerd. Gastvrij en kindvriendelijkheid. De gites zijn smaakvol ingericht en voorzien van alle gemakken.

Several people
If you are holidaying with more than 8 people, you can also rent one of our other houses La Bouchonnière (6 pers), Le Vigneron (6 pers), Le Forgeron (6 pers) or Le Tonnelier (10 prs) on the same property in our private hamlet. Our five houses have a combined capacity of 8 + 6 + 6 + 10 = 36 people. In consultation, there is still a limited possibility for an extra person (from 4 years of age) in some houses, for which an additional rate per night of € 30 applies (incl. 7% VAT).
Off-season/school holidays
It is possible that you make a reservation outside the high and mid-season or regular school holidays and want to stay in a spacious holiday home with considerably fewer people. In that case, please contact us to discuss an adjusted rate.
Availability - Open in spring, summer, autumn and winter
Le Menuisier is available for rent all year round (including Christmas and New Year's Eve). There is central heating throughout the house and a large original fireplace in the living room.
For the months in which (possibly) heating is required, the costs of heating and firewood are for the account of the tenant.
Small children
For (small) children various items are present in the house or can be rented, including a play corner with table and chairs, cot, high chair, baby bath, potty, etc.
Rental wagon and bicycles
The owners own a RAMBLER all terrain wagon. A wagon that allows parents with small children to take longer walks in this beautiful hiking area. More info on renting it on site.

In the mentioned rental prices of the house for low/half/high season are included for the season 2015:
- The costs for the use of gas, water and electricity
- A flat-rate for bed linen is included in the rental price, i.e. the beds will be made up for your arrival.
Other costs are:
- The final cleaning of the 8 persons house: E. 150,-- (incl VAT 20%).
- Reservation and administration costs (frais de dossier): E. 25,-- (incl VAT 20%).
- Local tourist tax Monflanquin: E. 0.60 per person 12+yrs, per night, period: 01/05 and 31/10.
- If required, you can rent a baby kit (cot, high chair, baby bath, changing mat etc.) E. 40 (incl. VAT 20%).
- One extra person 4 yrs and over above the stated capacity per cottage is E. 30 (incl. VAT 10%/night)
