Les Reves

A spacious, three bed gite, sleeps up to 6, with a large pool, hot tub, outside terraces, summer kitchen and extensive grounds, on the edge of the attractive village of Arques. The gite is in a peaceful location, yet within 5 minutes walk of village centre with bakery, bar/restaurant, post office, horse riding, playground, tennis court and football pitch. Even a Cathar castle is less than 1km away.

The two large bedrooms upstairs are both en suite. Downstairs, there is a double bedroom and large bathroom. The kitchen has been fitted to a high standard with oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and the comfortable living area has two sofas, satellite TV and a DVD player. During the cooler months, the wood burner creates a cosy atmosphere. French doors lead onto the outdoor patio area, complete with seating and a barbecue, which has views over the field to the village. A stair gate, travel cot and booster dining chair can be provided.
The gite is set within one hectare of land with plenty of room for children to run around. The 9m x 5m swimming pool is shared with us and our two daughters. The hot tub is found next to the pool, surrounded by a large decked area. There is also a table tennis table, bikes, giant jenga, darts and boules for guests to use.

The area is beautiful with mountain views in each direction. It is a perfect spot for walking or cycling holidays and the stunning scenery provides a perfect backdrop for painting or photography holidays. Horse riding is available locally and the hacks can be adapted to the rider's needs. Hats are provided. Just 40 minutes south of Carcassonne and 90 minutes north of the Spanish border, Arques is a very pretty village with its bakery, bar and lake.
Our Walking for Foodies package combines a cooked meal or picnic everyday with local walks or an activity. Round off each day under the stars in the jacuzzi or snuggled up in front of the wood burner. We can even provide transport while you're here.
Between October and March, long term lets are available (over 1 month). The £980 monthly rate includes electricity and water. Wood is payable locally. Make this your base for your house hunt!
