The house
The house is located about 200 meters from the main road in a cul-de-sac which opens onto the vineyard. The walls of our house are about half a meter thick and the relatively small windows keep the heat outside. The house is part of an old hamlet, built around a small château.
The vegetation is very old, high plane trees and poplars where the wind sometimes makes you think of more northern regions.
The house or the whole building is located at the end of a cobblestone path leading to the vineyards. It is a quiet place, not too lonely on the edge of a farming community. Puichéric is about 2 km away where you can go walking or cycling along the Canal du Midi in the morning delicious croissants and where everything is for sale.
At the gite are nice loungers to sunbathe after swimming on a second private terrace in front of the house. You can also carry them alongside the house- the vineyard to enjoy the phenomenal view of the mountains with a nice book (extensive library available). The pool is on a salt basis and is located in the private backyard of the host and hostess; guests can swim at any time.

The area is characterized by vineyards (Minervois), the Canal du Midi, the river Aude and a silhouette of mountains. The Mediterranean vegetation evokes the atmosphere of the nearby Mediterranean Sea. Behind and beside the Mas there is a beautiful view of the vineyards with the impressive Montagne Noire. From our house you can walk and cycle to the Canal Du Midi. The house is located in a wide flat or slightly sloping valley, full of ideal small bike and walking roads where you can also fully enjoy with less condition.

Rustig gelegen huis. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaar die je raad heeft waar de mooie plekjes en lekkere restaurants zijn. Alles is aanwezig in het huisje.

Het huis (met een deel geschakeld aan een ander huis) ligt mooi landelijk tussen de wijnvelden maar binnen maximaal 3 kwartier rijden van verschillende bezienswaardigheden (Canal Midi, Carcassonne, Haute Langedoc, Narbonne en stranden). Het huis is netjes en volledig ingericht, maar is niet luxueus. Heerlijk zwembad en mooie tuin. Veel privacy.

Typische mas uit het Zuiden. Alle voorzieningen aanwezig. Ook barbecue. En fietsen. Met een extra kamer waar je al je bagage kwijt kunt. Wel wat afgelegen, tussen de wijngaarden. Soms wat rumoerige buren rond hun zwembad. Wifi behoorlijk.
Restaurants, food & wine
On the hottest days you see in the Minervois a lot of cars in the direction of Montagne Noire: forests and reservoirs offer the then sought after cooling. About 6 km from our house there is a small inland lake: 'Le Lac de Jouarres'. Surfers can do well here on a small scale: it is a true family beach with surveillance, shade and a restaurant ... On the Aude canoeing (rental / departure from Puicheric) and rafting (near Limoux). Carcassonne, widely known as a monumental walled city, also has a golf course.
Activities
What we enjoy is the vastness of the landscape, the undulating vineyards, which are different in every season: young green in spring, and deep brown / red in autumn.
Atmosphere people as we are, we go into the villages on many market days: on terraces we drink the famous café au lait or later in the day, a good glass of Minvervois. By our nice restaurants - especially at noon - guests find a list in the house and of course we are extensively 'questionable'The Canal du Midi was the deciding factor for us to land in this area. Less than ten minutes walk from our house you can find the coolness under the plane trees with a picnic basket, and stretcher under your arm. Softly little boats are passing by. At the sluice, old 'Puichéricers' are sitting on benches - like old-fashioned pictures - looking at each other and the shadow. At the ports of Trèbes and the nearby Homps it is a pleasant crowds and you can rent boats.

Further remarks
In the village - at 2 km - all facilities are available: bakery, butcher, a small supermarket, wineries, tabac, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, jeux de boules. You can also go canoeing on the Aude.
