The house
Built in 2016 on the skeleton of an old workshop, our gite covers an area of 72m2. You enter through French doors at the front and find in the hallway two access doors to the two bedrooms with two beds each. One bedroom is more spacious and can accommodate a third bed or cot if necessary. At the end of the hallway, you will find access to the spacious bathroom. Here you will find a washbasin, toilet and shower. If you walk further you will find the living room and open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with modern (cooking) appliances, including a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. In the living room you will find comfortable furniture, an old wood stove and TV via internet with Dutch and Belgian channels and NETFLIX. In 2019, the gîte will be air-conditioned. From the living room you overlook the back of the gite. You have a private garden here that borders the stream La Burlande. The garden is equipped with garden furniture. On the grounds is a natural swimming pond of +/- 30 x 40 mtr.

The gîte is located in the commune Viazac, near the medieval village of Figeac in the department Lot and the region Midi-Pyrenees.

Regional products are of course the Bordeaux, Cahors and Coteaux du Quercy wines, walnuts, saffron, duck, truffles, melons, rocamadour (and many other types of) cheese.
In Figeac and its surroundings, there are many terraces and restaurants where you can enjoy a simple lunch or an extensive dinner for a reasonable price.
Activities
In the surroundings, you can enjoy the overwhelming nature, consisting of forests and meadows spread over the rather sloping landscape.
Many worthwhile villages and cities such as Conques, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Cordes, Gramat, Sarlat, Rocamadour are worth visiting.
Almost every village has its own local market and there is always a "brocante" or "vide grenier" to visit.
A bit further away you will find the Cantal, with a mountain range up to +/- 1800 meters. Le Lioran is in the winter a fantastic place for winter sports (+/- 1 hour by car).
The summer sports enthusiasts can get their money's worth. It is a slightly mountainous area with many rivers and lakes with possibilities for canoeing, swimming, fishing, paragliding, hiking, biking, visiting castles, caves, etc.
