The house
The property has been tastefully renovated over the past 10-15 years by the British owners. There is a modern, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and a lovey sitting room and dining area looking out onto a terrace and the garden. The garden is split over 3 levels and incudes a 10m swimming pool and terrace for al fresco dining.
The property boasts four double bedrooms and sleeps 8 comfortably. There are 2 bathrooms one of which is en-suite with bath and the other is a shower room. There is an extra toilet making 3 in total.

This secluded and charming old property forms part of a 13th century Mas on one corner of the village of Camelas with clear views of the local mountain. The town of Thuir is 10 minutes drive away with all amenities. There is a boulangerie 5 minutes drive away. There are lots of things to do in the area including walking directly from the house or further in field in the mountains. The Mediterranean is just 40 mins away with a wealth of beaches and water sports. You can take the little yellow train into the Pyrenees and marvel at the spectacular views. There are medieval towns such as Villefrance de Conflent, markets in nearby Thuir and Castelnou and numerous rafting and canyoning activities.

I stayed at Chez Cornisch with my 3 adult children (18, 19 and 21). After a long trip by car we thought we arrived in a paradise. It is such a lovely house in really adorable little village. One evening we were invited to the performance of a local Catalan singer Violetta at the church square, we sat among the locals to enjoy this special evening.
The house has several stairs so I woud not suggest this house to a family with very small children, or maybe elderly people. Anything you need for your stay can be found in this house. The welcome was very warm, maybe due to a very nice bottle of wine and a cake ;-). But also due to the adequate and friendly contact with Lesly Isaacs from Gites/Prestigepropertynetworks.
We did enjoy our stay and hopefully I will be back, this time with some of my friends.
Restaurants, food & wine
Many restaurants and bars in Thuir which is 10 mins drive away. All serving French/Spanish and Catalan food. Amazing seafood on the coast and international cuisine in Perpignan.
Activities
The main activities here are hill and mountain walking and cycling. You can swim in the sea and do all sorts of watersports. There is also canyoning on the rivers.

The house has steep stairs, low beams and a terraced garden and therefore is not really suitable for children under the age of 8 or those with mobility issues.
Small babies (ie. non-crawling or walking) accepted as 9th person if you are able to bring your own equipment.
Parking is available in the village carpark (about 3 mins walk away) but you can drive to the house to drop off bags.

An itinerary will be issued after this payment.
